The 2026 LIV Golf season starts next February under the lights in Riyadh, and in the next few months, we’ll take a detailed look at each player competing next season. Next up is a player who secured his first LIV Golf individual victory in 2025, Patrick Reed.
LOOKING AHEAD
After earning his first LIV Golf win in Dallas, Patrick Reed enters 2026 with some momentum. For a player who has historically won at a steady clip averaging nearly one victory per year from 2014 to 2021, expectations are high that another trophy is on the horizon for the 4Aces GC star. Reed’s consistency remains his calling card, and his T3 at Augusta in 2025 proved he can still contend in majors.
LOOKING BACK
Reed was his team's most consistent performer in 2025, securing 7th place in the season-long individual standings. The Texan earned his first LIV Golf victory on home soil, winning LIV Golf Dallas after a dramatic four-man playoff. He sealed the triumph with a clutch long-range birdie putt on the first playoff hole. Beyond that breakthrough, Reed posted five top-10 finishes, including a T4 in Korea, and delivered the strongest LIV Golf result at the season’s opening major with a T3 at The Masters.

WHAT THE STATS SAY
Strengths: Reed had a terrific season in terms of Strokes Gained: Approach and ranked 6th in the league, gaining 0.61 strokes per round. He thrived with his short irons, leading the league in Strokes Gained: Approach from 150 yards and in, gaining 0.54 strokes on the field per round on average.
Reed ranked 7th in Strokes Gained: Around the Green, which is no surprise, given his reputation as one of the best players in the world in that department over the course of his career. He scrambled at a 65% rate, which was good for T3 in the league. Tied to his ability to scramble was the fact that Reed ranked in the top 5 in bogey avoidance, making bogey or worse on only 13% of his holes played.
Weaknesses: Reed struggled with his long irons, ranking 45th in Strokes Gained: Approach from 225+ yards.
By his lofty standards, Reed didn’t have a great season with the putter. He ranked 25th in the league in Strokes Gained: Putting. Given that he’s typically one of the best putters in the world, I’d expect an improvement in that department for 2026.

BOTTOM LINE
Reed is a gamer who is always a threat to contend in LIV Golf events and major championships alike. Heading into 2025, he was arguably the best player on LIV Golf without an individual victory. With a win under his belt, Reed should be freed up to chase more trophies in 2026 and help lead 4Aces GC to their previous glory.
