Harold Varner III moved to Smash GC to replace the departing Brooks Koepka. In addition to the player acquisition, the 4Aces also announced Under Armor as their new apparel sponsor and Celsius as their official energy drink sponsor.

PLAYER SPOTLIGHTS
Dustin Johnson: Last season, the 4Aces GC captain underperformed relative to his lofty standards. For the team to improve, they’ll need Johnson to be closer to the player who was the best in the league back in 2022. While the two-time major winner may no longer be in his prime, he is more than capable of having a bounce-back season to lead the 4Aces in 2026.
Thomas Pieters: Coming off his first season in the Lock Zone, Pieters enters 2026 as a breakout candidate. Although he’s never finished on the podium, the Belgian showed glimpses of how high his ceiling is last season will be even more comfortable this season playing alongside his good friend, Thomas Detry.
Thomas Detry: The addition of Detry makes the 4Aces one of the deepest teams in the league. The Belgian had a dominant victory on the PGA Tour last year, winning the WM Phoenix Open by seven strokes. He is the type of player who can immediately threaten the top 10 of the individual standings in 2026.
WHAT THE STATS SUGGEST
In 2025, the 4Aces ranked T2 in greens in regulation, highlighting their stellar iron play. They also ranked third in driving distance, a stat that should only improve in 2026 with the addition of Detry.
WHERE CAN THEY IMPROVE
The 4Aces were long off the tee but left much to be desired in terms of accuracy, where they ranked 10th in the league. They also ranked ninth in putting. Johnson, who’s a streaky putter will be a key factor in rectifying that issue next season.
KEY QUOTES
Dustin Johnson on the 4Aces offseason: “I'm obviously very excited about this year. I just re-signed an extension a few months ago and then we got a new player. Thomas Detry is going to be on the team this year, another Belgian, so excited about that. I think he's a really good player.”
Thomas Detry on Thomas Pieters’ recruiting him to the team: "I had this phone call from Thomas just before Christmas. It had never really crossed my mind to join because there has to be a spot available. He said there’s potentially a spot available, and I didn’t really think that much of it, but it was still in the back of my mind. I called Thomas, and [told him that] there’s obviously always loads of rumors going around, so I’d like to have a little bit more of a formal offer, rather than just him sort of giving me a call, saying, ‘Oh, there’s a spot for you.’ I’m like, ‘OK, good to know, but if I could have someone a little bit more official.’ But I think it was just his job to call me and plant the seed in a way.”
Dustin Johnson on his golf future: “I still want to compete. I still feel like my game is good enough to get back to the top of golf… Once that goes away, that’s when I’ll stop. I still feel like I’m good enough to compete with the best.”
BOTTOM LINE
The 4Aces are much improved on paper and if they get a bounce-back year from Johnson, they can challenge any team in the league for the team title. The preexisting friendship and chemistry between Pieters and Detry will add a new dynamic to the team, making them a serious contender.
THREE BOLD PREDICTIONS
-
Johnson will win at least one individual event.
-
Pieters and Detry will go undefeated in team matchplay in the Team Championship.
