A recap of a big week at Club de Golf Chapultepec

When Fireballs GC came to Mexico City for LIV Golf's stop at Club de Golf Chapultepec, they didn't just show up to play – they showed up to open doors.

Throughout the week, the team put their values into action, using access to world-class golf as a catalyst for real community impact.

On the Course: Meet & Beat the Fireballs

The day before competition began, together with Club de Golf La Hacienda, Fireballs GC hosted a closest-to-the-pin challenge on one of the most beautiful par 3s in Mexico City. A field of participants stepped up to take on Fireballs GC players Josele Ballester and Luis Masaveu – taking their shot, having a laugh, and connecting with professional golfers in a way most don’t typically get in this sport.

A standout detail: roughly half the participants were young people whose tickets were sponsored, giving them access to an experience that would otherwise be well out of reach. Both players were generous with their time – signing, chatting, and making sure every person on that tee box felt like they belonged there.

All proceeds from the event went to Fundación Banco de Ojos, with every peso directed toward eye operations for young people 26 and under. Golf raised money. Golf opened eyes – literally.

College, Career & Beyond

The College, Career & Beyond program exists to develop future-ready young leaders – pairing access to the world of professional golf with the values the sport teaches: integrity, respect, perseverance, and sportsmanship, to open pathways to college, careers, and life beyond sport.

That came to life in Mexico City in two ways.

Young people from Fútbol Más were brought inside the ropes at Club de Golf Chapultepec for a behind-the-scenes look at how a world-class sporting event runs – from logistics and broadcast to course management and hospitality – exposing them to careers they may never have considered, right in front of them. Fútbol Más facilitators then led a Socio-Sports Leadership Workshop on-site, focused on self-awareness, decision-making, teamwork, and how the lessons of sport translate directly into everyday life.

Beyond the event itself, the program captured a podcast-style conversation moderated by broadcaster Rachel Drummond, with David Puig and Josele Ballester – both ASU alumni – speaking openly about university, career choices, identity, and what golf taught them about life. That video will be shared with community organizations across Mexico City, extending the reach to young people who have never set foot inside a golf club.

That's the point – the access and credibility of LIV Golf, pointed outward.

With the Sponsors

The week extended into evenings with Fireballs GC sponsors. A dinner hosted by MiP brought players and guests together for an intimate Q&A — relaxed, candid, and well received. Players also joined sponsors at Casa de los Fireballs after play over the weekend, continuing the kind of access that makes this team worth investing in.

What This Week Proved

Golf opens doors. Fireballs GC intends to keep opening them.
