The 2026 LIV Golf season starts next February under the lights in Riyadh, and in the next few months, we’ll take a detailed look at each player competing next season. Next up is a player who is coming off the best major championship season of his career, Legion XIII star Tyrrell Hatton.
LOOKING AHEAD
With a new outlook on major championships after contending at last year’s U.S. Open, Hatton will look to win his first major in 2026. “What happened on 17 is going to hurt a lot for a long time. It was the first time I’ve been in contention in a major, and that was exciting,” he said after his near-miss at Oakmont. Clearly a world class player, the Legion XIII star will likely have another chance at glory in the future.
Hatton had an unexpected down year on LIV Golf relative to his talent, with a lack of high-end finishes. That figures to change in 2026. The Englishman is arguably a top-5 player in the league and will undoubtedly have a bounce-back year in the individual standings. If he does, Legion XIII will be incredibly difficult to beat.
LOOKING BACK
Though Hatton did not secure a single podium finish in 2025, his season was defined by consistency and his ability to contend on the world's biggest stages. He finished in the top 24 in 10 of his 13 LIV starts, but Hatton truly shined in the major championships. He battled deep into the final round of the U.S. Open at Oakmont, ultimately recording a career-best T4 finish. He also finished T14 at the Masters and T16 at The Open Championship. This impressive major championship form confirms his status as a world-class competitor heading into the new season.

WHAT THE STATS SAY
Strengths: Hatton was the third-best iron player in the league in 2025, behind only Paul Casey and Sebastian Munoz. He gained an average of 0.73 strokes on the field in on approach and was especially effective with his short approach shots (150 yards) and in, where he ranked 4th. His strong iron play led to a 71% green in regulation rate, which ranked 3rd in the league.
Hatton has historically been a fantastic putter, and that remained the case in 2025. He ranked 13th in Strokes Gained: Putting, gaining an average of 0.17 strokes per round.
Despite the 26th place spot on the standings, Hatton tied for 11th in scoring average (-1.49).
Weaknesses: Hatton had an extremely poor season with the driver. The Englishman ranked 37th in the league in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, bleeding an average of 0.17 strokes per round. He hit only 58% of his fairways despite only being about league average in terms of driving distance.

BOTTOM LINE
It seems almost impossible for Hatton to not finish on the podium for a second straight season in 2026. He proved that he’s one of the best players in the world and was fantastic both in major championships and the Ryder Cup.
Although he needs to straighten out the driver, Hatton is one of the most surefire bounce-back candidates for the 2026 LIV Golf season and should earn a spot inside the top 10 of the individual standings while helping Legion XIII compete for back-to-back Team Championships.
