Little Sticks

Unleashing young people’s potential through golf.

Little Sticks is Majesticks Golf Club’s headline community programme, using golf to build resilience, teamwork and respect in children, especially those disengaged from traditional PE.

By drawing on Majesticks Golf Club players as role models and effectively supporting teachers to deliver lessons, the programme engages diverse groups of pupils in developing key life skills. Schools receive equipment, resources, training and ongoing support to embed Little Sticks for the long term.

Our Approach:

Educate - We aim to educate communities and partner organisations on how golf can contribute to the development of young people.

Our Impact:

Little Sticks, as an education tool has three core objectives:

1. Social Mobility: Young people developing the key life skills of Resilience, Teamwork and Respect through golf, using our players as role models. We prioritise working with schools in areas of deprivation.

Results so far: Survey data from 1,400 children shows strong gains: 78% now feel confident they can achieve goals through effort, and 77% recognise that patience leads to success, as a result of Little Sticks

2. Golf at the heart of PE: Teachers developing the confidence and competence to deliver golf within their PE curriculum plans, growing the game to all pupils in schools.

Results so far: In 2025, 200 schools implemented Little Sticks in PE, reaching over 42,000 children, 28% of whom receive free school meals. More than 500 teachers received face-to-face training; 98% now agree they have the knowledge to deliver golf (a 68% increase), and 96% are confident Little Sticks will remain part of their school long-term.

3. Robust Structure: Create a national infrastructure to effectively support schools and communities to embed the programme, allowing children to thrive in all areas of the country in and outside of school.

Results so far: A robust support system is in place: 97% of schools have an assigned mentor, with 150 mentor visits completed. 80% of schools have shared PE curriculum maps evidencing delivery, and 150 new schools are recruited for the 2025/26 academic year.

Here are some case studies of Little Sticks successfully being implemented within schools:

Our Journey:

  1. April 2024
    Piloted the programme in six schools to test the delivery model and pedagogy.
  2. June 2024
    Finalised activity cards, life-skill cards and PE units, uploaded to the Complete PE platform.
  3. January 2025
    Recruited 200 schools through local education partners, with teachers upskilled via training courses.
  4. February 2025
    Assigned schools a local mentor providing ongoing support.
  5. April–July 2025
    Partner schools delivered Little Sticks mainly through Summer Term PE lessons.
  6. July 2025
    Held Majesticks GC festivals at St George’s Park, British Grand Prix and LIV Golf UK, enabling pupils to meet professional golfers and strengthen belonging.
  7. November 2025
    Sheffield Hallam University completed an independent study on delivery and impact.
  8. January 2026
    Onboarding an additional 150 schools in the 2025/26 academic year.

We have delivered several Little Sticks festivals over recent years for schools to attend and pupils to meet our Majesticks Golf Club players.
