Stingers GC’s Branden Grace is back in the mix and ready to tee off as LIV Golf heads to Virginia from 6–8 June 2025. The South African returns from a short injury break and will rejoin his teammates at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club—a course he's been excited to check out.
Grace was forced to withdraw from the LIV event in Korea after his wrist flared up, but the good news? No surgery needed.
“I’m feeling a lot better," Grace said. "It was one of the longer breaks I’ve had in my career without touching a golf club—which was weird, but actually kind of nice. I kept busy on the farm, cutting grass and doing all the stuff I usually leave to someone else. I've got a new respect for farm work—it’s definitely not as easy as it looks!”
The wrist pain, which started in Miami and proceeded to worsen ahead of Korea, eventually forced him to sit out. After some scans, rest, and a course of treatment, Grace was back swinging again.
“Luckily no operation, which was great," Grace said. "I was on a strong steroid pack for a week, then took another week off before easing back in. I only picked up a club again just before Korea, and then finally played a proper round there for the first time since everything started. I was pain-free, which is massive. Now it's just about building up again and getting back into a rhythm.”
Looking ahead to the next stop in Virginia, Grace is optimistic—not just about his own game, but the team’s chances, too.
“I’ve heard nothing but good things about the course," Grace said. "Did a bit of research and it looks like a proper test—firm, challenging, and fun. And it’s always a treat for us to head to Washington. The Stingers have had some good performances there before. After a bit of time off, it'll be good to get everyone back together and get stuck in. We’re halfway through the season, and we all feel like we’re right in it. You can sense that something big is coming.”
Stinger GC currently sit 7th in the overall team standings at the halfway point of the 2025 LIV Golf season. Grace’s return comes at the perfect time as the team looks to build momentum heading into the second half of the campaign.
“It’s just good to be back," Grace said. "I’ve missed the guys, the competition, the energy. Hopefully, I can find my feet quickly and contribute to a strong finish for the team.”
