Little Sticks: Building A Community

The 2023 season marked a turning point for LIV Golf: its first year with fully established teams and a renewed focus on identity, purpose and impact. For us at Majesticks Golf Club, that meant committing to something bigger than performance alone—building a community that thrives on and off the course.
As the first external new hire, I saw immediately that “community” wasn’t a side project; it was a fundamental pillar of the organisation. That ethos sparked the creation of Little Sticks, our programme dedicated to supporting young people across the United Kingdom. Three years on, four principles have shaped our journey:
1. Start by listening.
Before launching anything, we spent time in schools, with teachers and with young people, understanding the real challenges they face. That insight allowed us to build Little Sticks around three core life skills: resilience, teamwork and respect.
2. Solve real problems with innovative ideas.
Our goal has always been to add value—not workload. By aligning with strong partners and respecting the pressures on schools, we’ve created programmes that genuinely help leaders achieve their outcomes faster and more creatively.
3. Create meaningful touchpoints.
From national teacher training to school festivals with our players, to design competitions and celebration events, we’ve prioritised experiences that bring people together and build true belonging.
4. Make community part of the culture.
This work isn’t tokenistic—it’s who we are. Everyone from our mentors to senior leadership to our professional golfers plays a role in understanding and amplifying impact.
As we enter 2026, our community includes dozens of Little Sticks mentors, hundreds of dedicated PE leads, thousands of engaged teachers and tens of thousands of young people benefitting from the programme.
To all our partners and stakeholders: thank you for helping us keep community thriving—one interaction at a time.
