An early glance at LIV Golf Singapore, the seventh tournament in the 2024 LIV Golf League.

ABOUT THE TOURNAMENT


When: May 3-5, 2024

Where: Sentosa Golf Club (The Serapong), Singapore

Competition: Three rounds/54 holes of stroke play

Field: 54 players – 13 teams of four players each, and two wild cards

Purse: $25 million US ($20 million individual, $5 million team)

Winner’s Share: $4 million USD (individual), $3 million USD (team)

Local Tee Times: Shotgun Start for Rds. 1-2 at 9:15 a.m. local (9:15 p.m. ET Thursday-Rd. 1/Friday-Rd.2); Rd. 3 at 9:05 a.m. local (9:05 p.m. ET Saturday)

KEY STORYLINES

LIV Golf returns to Singapore for the second consecutive season, with this week’s tournament marking the end of the first half of the 14-tournament schedule in 2024

The all-Australian Ripper GC enters this week after winning in front of their home fans in Adelaide, beating Stinger GC in LIV Golf’s first-ever team playoff

HyFlyers GC’s Brendan Steele won the individual title in Adelaide, giving his team its first trophy of any kind

Steele is the third consecutive first-time LIV Golf individual winner, following Abraham Ancer in Hong Kong and Dean Burmester in Miami

Talor Gooch, now playing for Smash GC, returns to defend the Singapore title he won last year in a playoff against Fireballs GC Captain Sergio Garcia

The 2023 Singapore playoff was the first of three that Garcia has participated in as a LIV Golf player

Defending Singapore team champion RangeGoats GC have two new players this season in Matthew Wolff and Peter Uihlein, who were acquired via offseason trades by captain Bubba Watson

Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann, a two-time winner this season, enters Singapore as the points leader in the Individual Championship race

Crushers GC, captained by Bryson DeChambeau, has won two team titles this season and leads the team points standings

LIV Golf Singapore is the last tournament before golf’s next major, the PGA Championship, which Smash GC Captain Brooks Koepka will enter as the defending champ

RAHM'S TOP-10 STREAK

Jon Rahm, captain of the expansion Legion XIII, is the only player this season to finish inside the top 10 in each of the first six tournaments, but the Spanish star remains in search of his first individual win since joining LIV Golf. He currently ranks second behind Joaquin Niemann in the overall Individual Championship race.

ABOUT THE COURSE

SENTOSA GOLF CLUB (The Serapong)

Yardage: 7,406 (6,777 meters)

  • The Serapong at Sentosa Golf Club was named the World’s Best Golf Course in 2023 by the World Golf Awards

  • The Serapong opened in 1982 and underwent a major renovation in 2006 and then another large renovation in 2020

  • Sentosa hosted the Singapore Open from 2005 to 2022, and LIV Golf members Ian Poulter and Sergio Garcia are past champions

  • The stretch of holes from hole Nos. 3-7 is known as the Dragon’s Tail. The 495-yard third is the longest par 4 on the course

  • The signature hole is the 486-yard par-4 fifth, situated in the belly of the Dragon

  • The 444-yard par-4 sixth includes a large rock formation known as the Dragon’s Tooth, as well as a false front known as the Dragon’s Tongue

  • Smash GC’s Talor Gooch is the defending champion at Singapore, beating Garcia in a playoff after both players finished regulation at 17 under
