LIV Golf Watch: Stars set for Genesis Scottish Open on DP World Tour
Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm leads seven LIV Golf players into The Renaissance Club where a deep field will vie for the coveted trophy in North Berwick.

This week, seven LIV Golf players will be in action on the DP World Tour at the Genesis Scottish Open at The Renaissance Club in North Berwick, Scotland.
GENESIS SCOTTISH OPEN
The Renaissance Club sits on the Archerfield Estate in East Lothian. Designed by Tom Doak and opened in 2008, it was built specifically with professional tournament play in mind and has been the permanent home of the Genesis Scottish Open since 2019. The layout plays as a par 70 at 7,282 yards. The course tends to produce some exciting finishes, and three of the last four editions were decided by a single shot or a playoff.

The Genesis Scottish Open will be the final tune-up for players prior to the 154th Open Championship at Royal Birkdale. It also serves as the final Open Qualifying Series event of the summer, with the top three non-exempt finishers earning spots in the field at Royal Birkdale the following week. For LIV Golf players outside the Open field, this is the last opportunity to earn a spot in the year’s final major.
This marks the first time LIV Golf players have competed in a PGA Tour-sanctioned event — made possible because the Scottish Open is co-sanctioned by DP World Tour, and each of the seven LIV players in the field hold active DP World Tour membership.
LAURIE CANTER. The Englishman will be making his third consecutive start at the Scottish Open, with his best finish coming in the form of a tie for 34th last season. A strong week in East Lothian could be exactly the confidence boost the Majesticks Golf Club standout needs heading into the summer's final major.
TYRRELL HATTON. This will be the Legion XIII star’s first PGA Tour-sanctioned start since the 2024 Sony Open in Hawaii, where he finished T-13 before making the move to LIV Golf. Hatton has played the Scottish Open previously and knows The Renaissance Club well. Hatton finished T6 at this event in 2023 has been playing well this season, winning at Valderrama.
TOM MCKIBBIN. The 23-year-old Northern Irishman played the Scottish Open in 2023 (T35) and 2024. It has been a quieter 2026 LIV Golf season for McKibbin, but he is a powerful, accurate driver of the ball with plenty of experience playing in the region. Playing a few hours from home - in front of galleries that know his name - will provide plenty of motivation.

ADRIAN MERONK. Meronk has made multiple appearances at The Renaissance Club but has yet to make the cut in this event since it’s been co-sanctioned with the PGA Tour. The Cleeks Golf Club star has struggled this season and sits 47th in the LIV Golf standings.
VICTOR PEREZ. The Cleeks Golf Club man has been one of the more consistent DP World Tour performers among LIV Golf's ranks this year, and the Scottish Open is familiar territory. Perez has played The Renaissance Club before and finished in a tie for 10th here in 2024.
DAVID PUIG. The Fireballs GC star is one of most exciting young players in professional golf and has had a strong season on LIV Golf, posting a solo second in Mexico City, a tied sixth in South Africa, and a tied fifth at Valderrama. He is making his Scottish Open debut this week and has one of the most dangerous drivers on any tour with the long iron game to attack this layout.
JON RAHM. Rahm's appearance at the Genesis Scottish Open marks his first PGA Tour-sanctioned tournament since the 2023 Tour Championship, and it comes as part of a conditional release agreement with the DP World Tour tied to his Ryder Cup eligibility at Adare Manor. He last played the Scottish Open in 2022, when he finished in a tie for 55th. He did, however, finish 7th at The Renaissance Club in 2021 when the event was a DP World Tour event only. The two-time LIV Golf winner this season has all the motivation in the world to show exactly where his game stands. The Renaissance Club is a course that rewards the complete player. Rahm is as complete as it gets.
