LIV Golf Mexico City drives positive community and environmental impact

MEXICO CITY – LIV Golf’s recent event in Mexico City showcased a significant commitment to community and sustainability through its LIV for Good platform. The event featured several impactful activations, including youth mentorship programs and pioneering environmental initiatives.
A key highlight was a behind-the-scenes tour with Fireballs GC, which provided local youth insights into career pathways within the golf and sports industry. Furthering its commitment to youth empowerment, LIV Golf, in partnership with Discovery Education and Futbol Mas, welcomed over 600 local schoolchildren to the event.
A major focus was placed on financial literacy with the launch of HSBC's "Classroom on the Range." This initiative provided essential financial education and life skills training to young attendees, combining classroom learning with hands-on golf instruction from Torque GC’s Joaquin Niemann and Abraham Ancer.
“Our goal is to ensure our events leave a lasting, positive impact in the communities we visit,” said Jake Jones, SVP of Impact & Sustainability at LIV Golf. “From providing career insights to working with our teams to deliver crucial life skills like financial literacy, we are dedicated to growing the game and supporting the next generation.”
The event also set a new standard for sustainability in golf. Key initiatives included the use of solar-powered lighting across the course, a fleet of electric golf carts to reduce emissions, and concession menus that were largely plant-based. Operationally, the tournament adopted a 99% local sourcing model. Furthermore, 90% of event structures were rented or designed for re-use, with plans to utilize them again for future events.
