Torque GC enters the 2026 season as one of the teams to beat after their acquisition of Abraham Ancer. With the Mexican joining Joaquin Niemann, Sebastian Munoz and Carlos Ortiz, LIV Golf's Latin American team should be a force to be reckoned with.
2026 ROSTER

Sebastian Muñoz, 33, Colombia. LIV Golf starts (26); Best result (1st)
Carlos Ortiz, 34, Mexico. LIV Golf starts (13); Best result (1st)
Abraham Ancer, 34, Mexico. LIV Golf starts (26); Best result (1st)
OFFSEASON NEWS
After Mito Pereira was relegated following the 2025 season, Torque made the move to acquire Ancer from Fireballs GC, giving them a roster that has four players that all finished in the top 12 of the individual standings last year. They also become the only team that has four members who have all won individual LIV Golf titles. While Legion XIII will be tough to beat, Torque may just have the best roster on paper heading into the 2026 season.
The missing piece of the puzzle.

2026 OBJECTIVES
-
Win the Team Championship.
-
Niemann to win the Individual Championship.
-
Niemann to post his best major championship finish, topping his T8 from the 2025 PGA Championship.
-
All four players finishing in the Lock Zone.
PLAYER SPOTLIGHTS
Joaquin Niemann: Niemann is the winningest player in LIV Golf history, having won seven individual titles. As one of the most talented players in the world, the next step for the Chilean will be to win a major championship. Torque is one of the most tightly knit teams in the LIV Golf League, and Niemann will aim to help deliver a Team Championship in 2026.
Sebastián Muñoz: Muñoz is coming off arguably the best season of his professional career. It will be hard to top his fourth-place finish in 2026, but the Colombian is certainly talented enough to build off his career year and get even better. He’s a force to be reckoned with on shorter courses and is one of the best wedge players in the league.
Carlos Ortiz: After Ortiz made a strong run at the U.S. Open, eventually finishing T4, expectations are sky high for the extremely talented Mexican. He has the power to compete with anyone in the league, and now that he’s tasted contention in a major championship, he will look to qualify for - and succeed - in majors in 2026 and beyond.
Abraham Ancer: Ancer is one of the most accurate players in the world and will be a factor at any course where accuracy is at a premium. Playing with his three close friends on Torque should provide a good deal of comfortability for Ancer, who seems primed to have his best LIV Golf season yet.

WHAT THE STATS SUGGEST
Last season, Torque was second in the league in driving distance but only ninth in driving accuracy. Adding Ancer, who ranked second in the league in driving accuracy (67.58%) will help their cause.
WHERE CAN THEY IMPROVE?
Torque has been one of the best teams in the league in terms of ball-striking but will need to improve their short game if they’re to challenge Legion XIII for the Team Championship. Last year, they ranked ninth in scrambling and seventh in putting.
KEY QUOTES
Joaquin Niemann on his 2025 season: "I was pretty satisfied. Winning five times is something that I look back now and I'm pretty proud of. It was pretty cool. But yeah, I feel that there's a lot to improve. I had five wins, I only had six top 10s. I know the rest wasn't as consistent. So, I feel like I can improve in that.”
Joaquin Niemann on the acquisition of Abraham Ancer: “Having Abe on the team, it's great. He's a great asset. He's a great player. So, I'm pretty happy to have a 2026 season with Abraham now on the team.”
Abraham Ancer on joining Torque: “Joining Torque GC is an exciting next step, both personally and professionally. Competing as part of an all-Latin team alongside close friends, whom I admire on and off the golf course adds a layer of connection and purpose that I can’t wait to be a part of.”
BOTTOM LINE
With one of the most talented rosters in the league, anything short of a Team Championship finals appearance would be a disappointment for Torque. All four of their players should compete for individual titles and Niemann will look to finally earn his first Individual Championship.
THREE BOLD PREDICTIONS
-
Joaquin Niemann earns his best major championship finish.
-
Torque wins three team titles.
