Power Rankings: LIV Golf players at PGA Championship
Here’s how the League’s players project this week for Aronimink Golf Club, site of the second major of 2026

This week, 11 LIV Golf players are in the field competing in the 108th PGA Championship at Aronimink Golf Club in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania — just outside Philadelphia. The Donald Ross design is a par-70 measuring 7,394 yards, featuring Bentgrass fairways and greens.
Aronimink rewards precision over power. With only two par 5s and a dozen lengthy par 4s, elite iron play and mental patience are paramount. It is the second time the PGA Championship has been held at Aronimink, which also hosted Gary Player's victory in 1962.
Here are the Power Rankings heading into the week.
1. Tyrrell Hatton
Best PGA Championship finish: T3 (2018 at Bellerive Country Club)
Recent form: T14 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), T5 (LIV Golf Mexico City), T3 (The Masters)
Over the last handful of major championships, Tyrrell Hatton has been one of LIV Golf's most consistent performers. He finished T4 at last year’s U.S. Open and his T3 at last month’s Masters was the best major finish of his career. The Legion XIII star has not had a PGA Championship top-10 finish since his T3 at Bellerive in 2018, but this may be the most complete version of Hatton we've seen.
On a course that he won’t need to overpower, Hatton now has some valuable recent experience of being in the mix at a major to go with his encouraging current form.
2. Bryson DeChambeau
Best PGA Championship finish: 2nd (2024 at Valhalla, 2025 at Quail Hollow)
Recent form: 3rd (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), WD (LIV Golf Mexico City), MC (The Masters)
Bryson DeChambeau has been one of the most consistent performers at the PGA Championship of any player in the world, finishing runner-up in back-to-back editions at Valhalla and Quail Hollow. After missing the cut at the Masters and then being forced to withdraw from the final round at LIV Golf Mexico City with a wrist injury, there were questions surrounding his current form. However, the Crushers GC captain eased those concerns with a strong performance at Maaden LIV Golf Virginia, finishing in solo third place.
Over his past 50 major championship rounds, he ranks 4th in the world in Strokes Gained: Total. Aronimink's layout may not play into DeChambeau's raw power the way some venues do, but his iron play and putting, when fully locked in, are more than capable of handling the Donald Ross test.
3. Jon Rahm
Best PGA Championship finish: T4 (2018 at Bellerive Country Club)
Recent form: T8 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), 1st (LIV Golf Mexico City), T38 (The Masters)
Jon Rahm enters the PGA Championship as one of the best players in professional golf, but it’s fair to question recent major performances for a player of his caliber. The Legion XIII captain has won two LIV Golf individual events in 2026, but his Masters week was a disappointment. His T38 finish was due in large part to a poor first round (6-over 78) before he settled in over the next three days, posting rounds of 70-73-68. Since then, Rahm has indicated that he “found something” on Sunday at Augusta National.
Aronimink's demand for elite iron play sets up well for Rahm, who ranks first on LIV Golf this season in Strokes Gained: Approach. The Spaniard also has a strong PGA Championship record, including a T4 in 2018 and T8 finishes in 2021 and 2025. He has yet to win the Wanamaker Trophy, but this may be the year the pieces finally fall into place.
4. Joaquin Niemann

Best PGA Championship finish: T8 (2025 at Quail Hollow)
Recent form: T11 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), T20 (LIV Golf Mexico City), T12 (LIV Golf South Africa)
Niemann recorded his first career major top 10 at last year's PGA Championship at Quail Hollow and arrives at Aronimink with far less pressure than he’s faced in any major championship in recent memory.
The Torque GC captain has played solid, consistent golf in 2026, but he has come back down to earth after a sensational 2025 LIV Golf season in which he won five tournaments. That dominant year thrust Niemann into the spotlight at the majors and placed a heavy burden on the Chilean. This season, however, there is far less outside noise burdening him. Aronimink suits Niemann’s game beautifully, and his proven success on Bentgrass greens makes this the perfect opportunity for him to strike.
5. Dustin Johnson
Best PGA Championship finish: T2 (2019 at Bethpage Black, 2020 at TPC Harding Park)
Recent form: 19th (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), T17 (LIV Golf Mexico City), T33 (The Masters)
Dustin Johnson received a special invitation from the PGA of America for the second consecutive year, extending his remarkable streak of consecutive major championship eligibility to 69. The 4Aces GC captain has a famously complicated relationship with the Wanamaker Trophy — he has six top-10 finishes including back-to-back runner-ups in 2019 and 2020, but also the heartbreaking 2010 incident at Whistling Straits where a two-shot penalty for grounding his club in a bunker on the 72nd hole cost him what might have been a chance at a playoff.
Johnson played Aronimink at the 2018 BMW Championship, finishing T24. The course's Bentgrass greens should suit his putting, which has been the strongest part of his game in 2026. "I still feel like I'm one of the best players in the world," he said last week in Virginia.
The 41-year-old is not lacking confidence heading into the week.
6. David Puig
Best PGA Championship finish: T60 (2025 at Quail Hollow)
Recent form: T15 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), T18 (Turkish Airlines Open), 2nd (LIV Golf Mexico City)
David Puig has been quietly rounding into one of the best young players in the world. The young Spaniard is a powerful, precise ball-striker who has been gaining confidence with every start and certainly has the talent to compete in any field.
"It's feeling all right,” Puig said about his game heading into the PGA Championship. “I think I've been scoring pretty good. I didn't really hit it very good off the tee this week, especially with the driver. A little off with the driver, but I think the rest of the game is pretty solid. I didn't make many putts this week, but I hit good putts. So I'm not worried about that. The driver has been a weapon the last year or two years, and I feel that, when I hit fairways, then I'm at my best obviously. I've been a little offline, just a little bit. If I can find something with the driver and go a touch more straight, then I'll be feeling very good.”
Aronimink's layout should suit Puig well, but he may gain some more valuable major championship experience before he’s ready to truly contend for a victory on the biggest stage.
7. Thomas Detry

Best PGA Championship finish: T4 (2024 at Valhalla)
Recent form: T7 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), T5 (LIV Golf Mexico City), T3 (LIV Golf South Africa)
Thomas Detry has been one of the most consistent players in professional golf in 2026 and is quietly putting together one of the best seasons of his professional career. He’s finished in the top 10 in five of his seven LIV Golf starts this season and has thrived under the LIV Golf format and global schedule.
His T4 at the 2024 PGA Championship at Valhalla is the best major finish of his career, and it shouldn't surprise anyone if he gets in the mix at Aronimink.
8. Tom McKibbin
Best PGA Championship finish: T50 (2025 at Quail Hollow)
Recent form: T25 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), MC (Turkish Airlines Open) T5 (LIV Golf Mexico City)
Tom McKibbin is making his second straight PGA Championship appearance and continues to mature with each major championship start. The Northern Irishman is steadily building valuable big-stage experience, but his current form may not be strong enough for him to breakthrough at this particular major just yet.
9. Cameron Smith

Best PGA Championship finish: T9 (2023 at Oak Hill)
Recent form: T23 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), T39 (LIV Golf Mexico City), MC (The Masters)
Cameron Smith arrives at Aronimink with something to prove in the major championships. The Ripper GC captain has missed the cut in each of his last six major starts. His 2022 Open Championship win at St Andrews remains the high-water mark of his major career, and he has just one top 10 at the PGA Championship, a T9 in 2023 at Oak Hill.
10. Elvis Smylie
Best PGA Championship finish: T72 (2025 at Quail Hollow)
Recent form: T43 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), T38 (Turkish Airlines Open), T35 (LIV Golf Mexico City)
Elvis Smylie announced himself to the world by winning the season-opening LIV Golf event in Riyadh but has had a quiet stretch individually since. The 23-year-old Australian is still searching for his best form after a tough week at Virginia. Major championship reps are a bonus for the Australian at this point of his young career.
11. Martin Kaymer
Best PGA Championship finish: 1st (2010 at Whistling Straits)
Recent form: T12 (Maaden LIV Golf Virginia), 35th (LIV Golf Mexico City), T31 (LIV Golf South Africa)
Martin Kaymer returns to the PGA Championship as a former champion, having won in a playoff over Bubba Watson at Whistling Straits in 2010 — the same week Dustin Johnson's infamous bunker penalty unfolded.
Last week at Maaden LIV Golf Virginia, Kaymer shared that he finally felt healthy after struggling with injuries over the last few years. A good bill of health, however, may not be enough for Kaymer to be a factor in major championships at this stage of his career.
