Power Rankings: LIV Golf players at the Masters

Apr 6, 2026 - 12:00 PMWritten by: Matt Vincenzi

This week, 10 LIV Golf players will be among the field competing in the 2026 Masters Tournament at Augusta National. The iconic 7,512 yard par-72 course will once again provide one of golf’s toughest tests with its fast greens and strategic layout.

The 10 players representing LIV Golf will look to deliver the first major championship title of 2026 to the league. Here are the Power Rankings going into the week.

POWER RANKINGS: THE MASTERS

1. JON RAHM

Best Masters Finish: 1st (2023)

Recent Form: 2nd (LIV Golf South Africa), 5th (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), 1st (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

In Hong Kong, Jon Rahm broke an 18-month winless streak after beginning his LIV Golf season with back-to-back runner-up finishes in Riyadh and Adelaide. Now, Rahm returns to Augusta National in arguably the best form he’s been in since he earned the green jacket in 2023.

The Legion XIII captain ranks 1st on LIV Golf this season in Strokes Gained: Approach and 3rd in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee. Although his putter has been hot and cold, he’s only lost strokes putting at Augusta National once in a measured start.

A win this week would allow Rahm to join Seve Ballesteros and José María Olazábal as the only Spanish players with multiple Masters victories. Ballesteros won his second green jacket three years after his first — precisely the feat Rahm is aiming to replicate.

2. BRYSON DECHAMBEAU

Best Masters Finish: T5 (2025)

Recent Form: 1st (LIV Golf South Africa), 1st (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), T24 (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

After struggling at the Masters for the first seven years of his professional career, Bryson DeChambeau has seemingly cracked the code at Augusta National. The Crushers GC captain finished T6 in 2024 and T5 in 2025, remaining in contention for the  majority of the tournament on both occasions.

DeChambeau arrives at Augusta National Golf Club in spectacular form, having won each of his past two starts in Singapore and South Africa. As expected, he has been elite off the tee, leading the league with 1.01 strokes gained per round on the field. His putting has also been outstanding this season, making him well-suited to Augusta National’s firm and fast greens. He has gained strokes on the green at the Masters in each of the past two seasons — a key reason his results there have improved dramatically.

DeChambeau is a legitimate contender to win his third major championship.

3. SERGIO GARCIA

Best Masters Finish: 1st (2017)

Recent Form: T17 (LIV Golf South Africa), T35 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), T8 (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

While Sergio Garcia’s results have been up-and-down for the first five LIV Golf events of the season, he’s shown some encouraging signs of form entering the Masters. The Fireballs GC captain ranks 4th in the league in Strokes Gained: Approach and his long irons have been particularly impressive, which will come in handy on the par 5s at Augusta National.

Garcia has lost strokes putting in four of five starts this season, which has been the primary reason he’s yet to contend. If he can have a spike week on the greens, the 2017 Masters champion’s tee-to-green game is sharp enough to see him exceed expectations.

4. TYRRELL HATTON

Best Masters Finish: T9 (2024)

Recent Form: T38 (LIV Golf South Africa), T10 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), T45 (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

Tyrrell Hatton has had an unpredictable start to his LIV Golf season. Although the Legion XIII star has two top-10 finishes, his other three starts have resulted in finishes of T38 or worse including a T38 finish in his most recent start in South Africa.

Surprisingly, it's been the putter that’s let Hatton down so far, as he’s lost strokes on the greens in four of his five starts.

Despite the shaky short game, Hatton cannot be ruled out at Augusta National. He has posted solid finishes of T9 and T14 in the past two Masters, and after establishing himself as a major contender last season, the Englishman may just turn it on this week.

5. CAMERON SMITH

Best Masters Finish: T2 (2020)

Recent Form: T17 (LIV Golf South Africa), T8 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), 48th (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

An argument can be made that Augusta National is the perfect golf course for Cameron Smith. While the course is demanding in many ways, it offers a bit more room off the tee — something the Ripper GC captain needs given his career-long driving accuracy issues. Where Smith truly thrives, however, is on and around the greens, where his creativity and shot-making ability allow him to score effectively. Those are precisely the qualities that matter most at Augusta National.

Smith has made nine starts at the Masters and finished inside the top 10 five times. With course history being a major factor this week, don’t be surprised if he finds himself in the mix.

6. CARLOS ORTIZ

Best Masters Finish: MC (2021)

Recent Form: 8th (LIV Golf South Africa), T21 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), 6th (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

Given the importance of experience at Augusta National, expectations for Carlos Ortiz this week should be measured. The Torque GC star is a supreme ball-striker and currently ranks 2nd in Strokes Gained: Approach on the LIV Golf season, which raises his floor as a potential top-20 finisher. Ortiz showed he has the talent to compete at the highest level with a strong performance at last year’s U.S. Open, but he may need another lap around Augusta National before he’s ready to seriously threaten the top of the leaderboard.

7. DUSTIN JOHNSON

Best Masters Finish: 1st (2020)

Recent Form: T31 (LIV Golf South Africa), T10 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), T24 (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

Dustin Johnson one of the most accomplished Masters players of his generation, with four top-10 finishes in addition to his 2020 victory. The 4Aces GC captain has an unusual statistical profile this season: he has gained strokes with the putter in all five of his starts, yet he has lost strokes off the tee and on approach in four of those five events. For a player who has been one of the most reliable ball-strikers over the better part of two decades, it’s surprising to see him struggle in those key areas. While he could spike for a round or two this week, seeing him contend in his current form would be a pleasant surprise.

8. TOM MCKIBBIN

Best Masters Finish: Debut

Recent Form: T24 (LIV Golf South Africa), T21 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), T24 (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

Tom McKibbin is one of the most talented young players in the world, but even the best tend to struggle on their first trip to Augusta National. The Northern Irishman does have the luxury of receiving tips from his Legion XIII teammates Jon Rahm and Tyrrell Hatton, but he may need some first-hand experience before he can truly master the tricky layout.

9. CHARL SCHWARTZEL

Best Masters Finish: 1st (2011)

Recent Form: T24 (LIV Golf South Africa), T21 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), T31 (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

Charl Schwartzel gutted through painful back spasms a few weeks ago at LIV Golf South Africa as the Southern Guards GC team came agonizingly close to an inspirational win on home soil. The energetic South African crowd gave Schwartzel the necessary adrenaline to get through the week, but unfortunately, those 100,000 fans won’t be in Augusta accompanying the 2011 Masters winner this week.

10. BUBBA WATSON

Best Masters Finish: 1st (2012, 2014)

Recent Form: T38 (LIV Golf South Africa), T28 (Aramco LIV Golf Singapore), T41 (HSBC LIV Golf Hong Kong)

Bubba Watson had a resurgent 2025 season, but his form has been slow to develop so far in 2026. Through five starts, Watson’s best finish has been a T28 in Singapore and he’s finished worse than 37th in each of the remaining four events.

As a two-time Masters champion, the RangeGoats GC captain clearly loves Augusta National, but may not have the current form to take advantage of his course knowledge. Last year, Watson led the Masters field in Strokes Gained: Putting. He’ll likely need to find similar magic with the putter this year if he’s to replicate the 2025 T14 finish.
