Team Power Rankings: LIV Golf UK Presented by JCB

As the LIV Golf League heads to JCB Golf & Country Club for LIV Golf United Kingdom Presented by JCB, the stage is set for the 10th stop on the schedule. Last year, Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann claimed the individual title with a three-shot victory over RangeGoats Golf Club Captain Bubba Watson, while Legion XIII took home the team trophy.

JCB Golf & Country Club will host the event for the third time. The par-72, 7,332-yard course opened in 2018 and was designed by Robin Hiseman. The 17th is the signature hole, a 255-yard par-3 that sits on a converted island and has the potential to play a crucial role when the leaders come down the stretch. If that wasn’t difficult enough, the 18th features a green heavily guarded by four intimidating bunkers, while the three-tier putting surface could see many players face difficult two-putts to finish their rounds.

The sixth hole, which has been the most difficult hole the previous two years of LIV Golf UK when it played as a par 4, now becomes a par 5, with the entire course now at par 72. The back tee at the sixth has been slightly pushed back and enlarged, with the hole extended to 509 yards.

TEAM POWER RANKINGS

1. LEGION XIII

Legion XIII arrive at JCB as the hottest team in the LIV Golf League after winning LIV Golf Andalucía by six shots. Tyrrell Hatton claimed the individual title at Valderrama, while Captain Jon Rahm finished runner-up to give the team a dominant one-two finish.

Rahm’s performance in Spain was even more impressive statistically than it appeared on the leaderboard. He led the field in Strokes Gained: Approach at +11.43 despite ranking 43rd in Strokes Gained: Putting. His iron play was on another level, and he also led the field in approach play from inside 150 yards. Hatton produced the most complete performance of the week, ranking fifth in Strokes Gained: Approach and fourth in Strokes Gained: Putting.

The Open Championship was less encouraging for both players as Rahm and Hatton faded over the weekend, with Rahm's struggles with the putter continuing. The Spaniard also finished T5 at JCB last season, while Caleb Surratt finished third and Tom McKibbin finished T11. Legion XIII sits second in the season-long team standings and they are the team to beat in the United Kingdom.

2. TORQUE GC

There is no player in the field with more positive memories of JCB Golf & Country Club than Joaquin Niemann. The Torque GC captain won the event last season in wire-to-wire fashion, shooting 17 under to defeat Bubba Watson by three shots. It was his fifth individual victory of the 2025 season and further established him as the most prolific winner in LIV Golf history.

Niemann did not contend at Valderrama, but his ball-striking remained encouraging. He ranked 15th in Strokes Gained: Approach and led the field in approach play from 150 to 225 yards. Carlos Ortiz ranked 11th in Strokes Gained: Approach, while Abraham Ancer ranked 10th in approach and finished third.

Torque GC finished third in Andalucía, demonstrating the roster depth that has kept them competitive throughout the season. Sebastián Muñoz also finished T11 at JCB last year. Niemann’s course history, Ancer’s recent form and three players ranking inside the top 15 in Strokes Gained: Approach at Valderrama make Torque GC a serious threat to win their first team title of 2026.

3. RIPPER GC

Ripper GC enters LIV Golf UK with momentum from two very different types of golf courses. They finished fourth at the strategic and demanding Real Club Valderrama before Lucas Herbert put together one of the most memorable rounds in recent major championship history at Royal Birkdale.

Herbert shot a second-round 62 at The Open Championship, tying the record for the lowest round in a men’s major, and remained in contention deep into the final round. His performance comes during a season in which he has already won LIV Golf Virginia and climbed to fifth in the individual standings.

Cameron Smith also appears to be trending in the right direction. He finished T5 in Andalucía while ranking seventh in Strokes Gained: Approach and ninth in Strokes Gained: Putting. Smith finished 10th at JCB last year, while Marc Leishman finished T11 and enters this week ranked 23rd in the individual standings. They sit third in the team standings and have the roster strength to win on any type of golf course.

4. 4ACES GC

The 4Aces remain atop the season-long team standings and reinforced their position with a runner-up finish at LIV Golf Andalucía. Captain Dustin Johnson and Thomas Detry both finished T5 at Valderrama, although they arrived at that result in very different ways.

Detry led the field in Strokes Gained: Putting at +6.77, while Johnson ranked second at +6.25. Johnson also ranked fourth in the par-3 off-the-tee category and sixth on approaches from 150 to 225 yards, but his short-iron play was a concern. Detry followed his strong week in Spain by making the cut at The Open Championship and closing with a final-round 69.

Anthony Kim sits seventh in the individual standings and has been one of the biggest surprises of the 2026 LIV Golf season. Thomas Pieters ranks 14th, giving the 4Aces three players inside the top 14 of the season-long race. Pieters also finished T29 at JCB last season, while Johnson struggled and finished last.

Despite Johnson’s poor course history, his improved form and the overall strength of the roster make a repeat of that performance unlikely. With a 22-point lead in the team standings, the 4Aces have earned the benefit of the doubt.

5. CRUSHERS GC

Bryson DeChambeau arrives at JCB after another strong showing on one of golf’s biggest stages. The Crushers GC captain entered the final round of The Open Championship in contention and once again demonstrated why he has become one of the biggest stars in professional golf.

The rest of the Crushers roster has strong course history. Charles Howell III and Paul Casey, who will be making his return to the lineup this week after missing time with an injury, finished T18 and T11, respectively, at this event last season. Anirban Lahiri finished 10th at Valderrama while ranking third in Strokes Gained: Putting. The Crushers sit fourth in the team standings but finished only T5 in Andalucía. If DeChambeau carries his major championship form into LIV Golf UK, they should be in the mix.

6. FIREBALLS GC

Few teams possess more high-end talent than Fireballs GC. David Puig sits eighth in the individual standings, Sergio Garcia ranks 10th and Josele Ballester sits 15th. All three have already demonstrated the ability to contend in strong fields this season.

Garcia finished fourth at Valderrama while ranking third in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee, eighth in Strokes Gained: Approach and third in Strokes Gained: Around the Green. Puig finished T5 and was equally impressive statistically, ranking second in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and sixth in Strokes Gained: Approach. Ballester struggled in Andalucía but responded by making the cut at The Open Championship and shooting an impressive third-round 66.

The Fireballs sit sixth in the season-long team standings and have the talent to contend but will need contributions from the entire roster to win.

7. RANGEGOATS GOLF CLUB

Bubba Watson is the primary reason the RangeGoats rank this highly. The captain finished runner-up at JCB last season, three shots behind Niemann, and arrives in the United Kingdom playing his best golf of the year.

Watson finished ninth at Valderrama and ranked third in Strokes Gained: Approach at +7.01. He also ranked second in the par-3 off-the-tee category, seventh on approaches from 225 yards or longer and eighth in Strokes Gained: Around the Green. The putter held him back, but his ball-striking was outstanding.

Peter Uihlein sits 19th in the individual standings and made the cut at The Open Championship after advancing through final qualifying. Matthew Wolff finished T37 at JCB last year but sits 24th in the season-long individual standings. The RangeGoats finished seventh in Andalucía and sit 11th in the team standings, so the season-long resume is difficult to overlook. However, Watson’s combination of course history and recent approach play gives them some upside this week.

8. SOUTHERN GUARDS GC

Southern Guards GC have several players whose games appear well-suited to JCB. Dean Burmester finished T5 at this event last season and sits 13th in the individual standings. Branden Grace finished T21 at JCB in 2025 and arrives in the United Kingdom after one of the best ball-striking performances of his season.

Grace ranked second in Strokes Gained: Approach at Valderrama, gaining 7.19 strokes on the field. He also ranked third on approaches from inside 150 yards. His putting prevented him from contending, as he ranked 49th in Strokes Gained: Putting, but the underlying performance was significantly better than his T11 finish suggests.

Charl Schwartzel finished T11 at this event in 2025. Southern Guards GC sits seventh in the team standings and finished eighth in Spain, but they are a dark horse at a course that should reward their collective experience and approach play.

9. MAJESTICKS GOLF CLUB

Majesticks Golf Club has struggled for much of the 2026 season, but LIV Golf UK presents their best opportunity to turn things around. The Majesticks are the home team this week and should receive a significant boost from the English crowd at JCB Golf & Country Club.

Lee Westwood and Ian Poulter bring an enormous amount of experience competing in front of home galleries, while Laurie Canter arrives after making the cut at The Open Championship. Westwood finished T37 at JCB last season, while Poulter finished T42. Their course history is not spectacular, but both players should be comfortable in the conditions and understand how to manage the expectations that come with playing at home.

The Majesticks sit last in the season-long team standings and finished 12th at LIV Golf Andalucía, so recent results do not justify a high ranking on their own. However, the energy of the home crowd, their familiarity with English golf and the experience across the roster should give them a better chance to outperform expectations this week.

10. OKGC

Talor Gooch has excellent course history at JCB Golf & Country Club. The OKGC captain finished fourth last season at 11 under and enters LIV Golf UK ranked 12th in the individual standings. His combination of course history and season-long form gives OKGC a strong foundation this week.

The concern is the form surrounding him. OKGC finished 10th at Valderrama and sit eighth in the season-long team standings. Harold Varner III finished T19 in Andalucía, while Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell struggled.

Gooch is capable of contending individually at a venue where he has already demonstrated comfort. If the rest of the roster can provide three reliable scores each day, OKGC have a better chance to outperform their recent team results.

11. CLEEKS GOLF CLUB

Victor Perez gave Cleeks Golf Club some much-needed momentum at The Open Championship. Perez made the cut and closed with a final-round 68 at Royal Birkdale, an encouraging performance as he prepares for another event in the United Kingdom.

Martin Kaymer also has reasons for optimism. The captain finished T11 at JCB last season and ranked 13th in Strokes Gained: Approach at Valderrama.

Cleeks Golf Club sit 10th in the team standings and enters the week with limited collective momentum.

Still, Perez’s performance at The Open and Kaymer’s course history give them a chance to exceed expectations.

12. HYFLYERS GC

Scott Vincent continues to carry HyFlyers GC. He sits 17th in the individual standings and produced another balanced statistical performance at Valderrama, ranking 16th in Strokes Gained: Around the Green and 11th in Strokes Gained: Putting.

Vincent also earned a spot in The Open Championship field, adding a valuable week of experience before LIV Golf UK. Brendan Steele finished T25 at JCB last season, while Cameron Tringale finished T29. There is enough course history across the roster to suggest the HyFlyers can improve on their recent results.

Still, the team finished ninth in Andalucía and sits ninth in the season-long standings. Vincent has been reliable, but the depth behind him remains the primary concern.

13. KOREAN GOLF CLUB

Byeong Hun An produced one of the most encouraging statistical performances at LIV Golf Andalucía. He finished T11 while ranking fourth in Strokes Gained: Approach and second on approaches from inside 150 yards. His driving remains volatile, but the quality of his iron play gives him a chance to contend at JCB.

Yubin Jang finished T21 at this event last season and has some positive course experience to build upon. However, Korean Golf Club finished 11th in Andalucía and sits 12th in the season-long team standings.

An is the player most likely to lead the team this week, but Korean Golf Club will need significantly more from the rest of the roster to move into contention. A strong individual week from An would still represent meaningful progress.
