Rd. 1-2 tee times for LIV Golf players at The Open

LIV Golf stars Bryson DeChambeau and Tyrrell Hatton will join defending champion and world No. 1 Scottie Scheffler in one of the featured groups for the first two rounds of this week’s Open Championship at Royal Birkdale.

Season-long points leader Jon Rahm is also in a featured group with Tommy Fleetwood and Jordan Spieth, the latter having won the Open in 2017 when it was last held at Royal Birkdale.

Tee times were released Monday for the first two rounds, with the opening round set to begin Thursday morning in England. Sixteen LIV Golf players started the week in the field, including the individual champions of each of the last seven LIV Golf tournaments.

On Monday, Southern Guards GC Captain Louis Oosthuizen withdrew due to a back injury, dropping the number to 15 LIV Golf players who will compete.

DeChambeau, the Crushers GC captain, has won twice this season while Hatton of Legion XIII is the league’s most recent winner, having claimed LIV Golf Andalucía last month in Spain. They will tee off with Scheffler starting at 9:58 a.m. local time Thursday (4:58 a.m. ET).

Legion XIII captain Rahm, who also has won twice this season as he eyes a third consecutive LIV Golf Individual Championship, is seeking the third leg of the career grand slam. He will tee off in the group immediately after DeChambeau and Hatton, at 10:09 a.m. (5:09 a.m. ET).

Hatton and Majesticks Golf Club’s Laurie Canter are the only English-born players among the 16 LIV Golf players in the field. Northern Ireland’s Tom McKibbin is also in the field and will play with 2018 Open champion Francesco Molinari.

HyFlyers GC’s Scott Vincent is also grouped with a past Open champion, 2009 winner Stewart Cink.

Cameron Smith (Ripper GC) will be seeking his second Claret Jug. He won at St Andrews in 2022.
