Hatton is no stranger to success at Wentworth Club. The Englishman won the BMW PGA Championship in 2020 and finished runner-up in 2023. He shot rounds of 69-70 over the first two days of the event, but his 64 on Saturday was the lowest round of the day.
“It was a good day's work. Got off to a little bit of a slow start,” said Hatton, who made five consecutive pars before making eight birdies over his final 13 holes. "The last 10 holes were great. Gave myself plenty of opportunities and it's always nice to see putts going in.”

Hatton finished by birdieing his final three holes, the last two of which were par 5s.
“I knew that there were opportunities at the end, if you can hit the right shots, and thankful I was able to hit it in fairly close on the last few and see the putts go in,” Hatton said.
Sweden’s Alex Noren and France’s Adrien Saddier are both at 15 under, two shots ahead of Hatton (13 under). Sunday’s final round should be a thrilling one, as there are 10 players within five shots of the lead.
“I'm excited for tomorrow," Hatton said. "I'll go out there tomorrow and give it my best, and hopefully it will be a good day."
One of the players within striking distance is 4Aces GC’s Patrick Reed, who is 10-under par after carding a 3-under 69 following rounds of 69 and 68. Reed got off to a slow start as well and was 1 over when he made the turn, with two birdies and three bogeys. He produced a clean card on the back nine, making four birdies and no bogeys.
Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann took advantage of an early tee time to post a 7-under 65, tied for the second-lowest round of the day. The stellar round put Niemann into a tie for 12th place and six shots back of the lead.
Legion XIII's Tom McKibbin has also fared well and stands in a tie for 20th (8-under total), seven shots back of the lead.
