CHICAGO – Smash GC, one of the 13 teams in the LIV Golf League, celebrated the newest recipient of the Smash for Success Scholarship, Morgan Rodriguez, during a special ceremony at the LIV Golf Chicago event this week. Morgan, an 18-year-old standout from Deerfield Beach, Florida, was recognized for her academic excellence, leadership, and commitment to using golf as a platform for change.
As part of her award experience, Morgan joined the Smash GC team on the course during the LIV Pro-Am at Bolingbrook Golf Club. Alongside Isaac Westbrook, the inaugural Smash for Success scholarship recipient, Morgan spent the day getting an inside look at life on tour and connecting with Smash GC’s players and staff. The celebration concluded with an intimate awards ceremony hosted at the club, highlighting her achievements and powerful story.
Morgan’s selection exemplifies Smash GC’s alignment with LIV Golf’s Potential Unleashed strategy, which seeks to elevate young athletes both on and off the course. Her success also underscores Smash GC’s ongoing partnership with Jon Gee, a dedicated mentor and coach to Morgan over the years.
A 2025 graduate of Florida Atlantic University High School, Morgan boasts a 5.1 weighted GPA and will attend Delaware State University this fall, where she will join the Women’s Golf Team and study Law Studies and Business Management, with a minor in Psychology. Her long-term goals include becoming a civil rights or environmental attorney and working in real estate.
With more than 500 volunteer hours, an internship at the Miami State Attorney’s Office, and leadership roles across organizations such as ICYG, First Tee, BBYO, and the Jewish Student Union, Morgan represents the spirit of impact that Smash for Success seeks to support. Her story, marked by resilience, ambition, and service, deeply reflects the transformative power of golf.
Smash GC is honored to support the next generation of leaders like Morgan and will continue to champion programs that unlock potential across the game and beyond.
