AUGUSTA, Ga. – The first major championship of the season has arrived with the start of the Masters at Augusta National Golf Club. Ten LIV Golf players began in the original field of 91, including Southern Guards GC member and 2011 champion Charl Schwartzel

Here’s a look at each of his first two rounds.

Rd. 2 score: 1-over 73 (4-over total)

Round 2: Charl Schwartzel shot a 1-over 73 to sit at 4 over for the tournament with a good chance to make the cut. He made five birdies but also had one double bogey and four bogeys.

Round 1: Schwartzel opened his Masters bid with a bogey on the first hole and followed with four straight pars before notching his first birdie of the day on the par-3 sixth. The 2011 Masters champion then dropped back-to-back bogeys on the ninth and 10th holes. In the end, Schwartzel struggled to a 3-over 75 on a tough opening day at Augusta National.

“Yeah, course is tough. It's firm,” Schwartzel said. “There was a few tough pin placements. Didn't really feel like I played that badly. You know, didn't make enough key 12-footers. I had a few opportunities on 12-footers and missed.”
