Equipment changes for LIV Golf Michigan Team Championship

PLYMOUTH, Mich. – The stage is set for the final event of the LIV Golf season, with the 12 remaining teams competing in this week’s LIV Golf Michigan Team Championship at The Cardinal at Saint John’s. Friday’s quarterfinals and Saturday’s semifinals will be team match play, with the finals on Sunday consisting of the final three teams playing stroke play.
Here are the notable equipment storylines and changes this week:
Bryson DeChambeau: Testing new iron and wedge setups, alternating between Avoda irons and LA Golf irons, and between LA Golf wedges and PING wedges. A final decision is expected after additional pre-round range work, per his caddie Greg Bodine. DeChambeau will continue using the Pro V1 25X golf ball this week.
Brendan Steele: Switches 3-iron to Srixon ZX7.
Ben Campbell: Moves from Scotty Cameron T-9.5 putter to Scotty Cameron T-5. Campbell gained 3.03 strokes putting in Indianapolis.
Jason Kokrak: Adds TaylorMade Qi10 7-wood to the bag.
Abraham Ancer: Changes putter from LAB Golf OZ.1i to Callaway Odyssey AI-One Rossie CH. Ancer has gained strokes putting in four of his past five events.
Charles Howell III: Replaces 4-iron, switching from Srixon ZX i7 to Srixon ZX iU.
Graeme McDowell: Swaps TaylorMade SIM 3-wood for Titleist GT2.
Dean Burmester: Updates 7-wood to Ping G440 Max and changes 2-iron to Srixon ZX.
Carlos Ortiz: Adopts new Callaway Odyssey grip.
Sergio Garcia: Switches putter from Scotty Cameron Del Mar 3.5 to Scotty Cameron Masterful TourType SSS. Garcia struggled on the greens in Indianapolis, losing 3.57 strokes to the field.
