14 full-time LIV Golf players will compete in the 2025 U.S. Open
NOTEWORTHY
Defending U.S. Open champion Bryson DeChambeau (Crushers GC), a two-time winner, leads the list of 14 LIV Golf players competing at Oakmont. Also included are two other current USGA titleholders – 2024 U.S. Senior Open champion Richard Bland (Cleeks Golf Club) and 2024 U.S. Amateur champion Josele Ballester (Fireballs GC) – as well as 2016 U.S. Open champion Dustin Johnson (4Aces GC) who won the last time the tournament was played at Oakmont. …
DeChambeau will attempt to become the first U.S. Open champion since Brooks Koepka (Smash GC) in 2018 to successfully defend his title. …

STEAMROLLING INTO OAKMONT
Several players hope to carry the momentum from last week’s LIV Golf Virginia presented by Maaden into Oakmont:
- Joaquin Niemann shot a final-round 8-under 63 to win his fourth LIV Golf title of 2025 (and league-record sixth overall)
- Bryson DeChambeau shot a final-round 65 to finish T4, his sixth consecutive worldwide top-5 finish (including the first two majors)
- Phil Mickelson shot a final-round 65, including an incredible side-angle chip-in late in his round, to finish T4
- Jon Rahm shot a final-round 68 to finish T8 and maintain his streak of finishing top 10 in each LIV Golf event that he’s completed
- Dustin Johnson shot a final-round 66 to finish T10, his third top-10 in his last five LIV Golf starts
- Marc Leishman shot a final-round 66 to finish T10; he posted his first LIV Golf win earlier this season in Miami
- Carlos Ortiz shot a final-round 68 to finish T10, his fourth top-10 finish this season
- Tyrrell Hatton shot a final-round 65 – his lowest round this season – to finish T15
- Jinichiro Kozuma shot a final-round 64 – the Iron Heads’ lowest round this season – to finish T23
- Richard Bland shot a final-round 65 and produced the field’s longest drive on the two measured holes in the final round at 351.7 yards
