Josele Ballester is making his fourth major start and first of the 2026 season at Royal Birkdale. He shot a 7-under 65, registering seven birdies and one eagle in his second round of final qualifying at West Lancashire to finish T2 at 9-under to earn his spot.
He turned pro in 2025 to join LIV Golf after a successful amateur career that included wins in the 2020 Spanish Amateur, 2023 European Amateur and 2024 U.S Amateur. He captured his first pro victory in November at the PIF Saudi International.

Hailing from Castellón, the same Spanish province as his team captain Sergio Garcia, Ballester continues a proud regional legacy while representing the next wave of Spanish golf talent.
