SAN ROQUE, Spain– In a week when one of Europe’s most iconic golf courses tested LIV Golf players both physically and mentally, it was Talor Gooch who held on to win for the fourth time in his LIV Golf career and the second time at Valderrama.

Legion XIII came out on top in the team competition, with stellar performances from Jon Rahm and Tom McKibbin leading the way.

Here is a last look at some of the notable performances from LIV Golf Andalucía:

Round of the Week

Dustin Johnson had the low round of the week on Saturday, firing an incredible 7-under 64 in tough conditions to get into contention. His round included seven birdies and no bogeys. For Johnson, the strong performance validates what he’s been feeling for a few months now: that he’s been playing well and just not scoring.

“Today obviously was a really good score. I feel like my game has been really good the last month and a half or so, just haven't really seen the results that I feel like I should be shooting. Today it was nice to actually put together a really solid round. I feel like I'm swinging really good. I've got a lot of confidence in everything that I'm doing.”

Shot of the Week

Patrick Reed pulled off a miraculous par save on the 17th hole during Round 2. The 4Aces GC star had a tough stance with one foot in the bunker and his ball in the rough. Reed swung hard and ended up doing a pirouette, with his ball landing on the green. He then made a long-distance putt for par, capping off a remarkable sequence.

Clutch Performance

Legion XIII’s Caleb Surratt had a horrific start to his final round and was 4-over through his first nine holes, but the league’s youngest player showed some serious moxie toward the end of his round, making five birdies on his second nine to finish the round at 1-under. His performance fueled Legion XIII’s climb to the top of the leaderboard, earning them the team title.

Under the Radar Performers

Josele Ballester: Josele Ballester played the best round of his LIV Golf career, and did so by a large margin. The Spaniard shot a 4-under 67 on Sunday and finished the week at 2-over, good for T23 on the leaderboard. This marks the first time Ballester has earned points as an individual in the LIV Golf League.

Matt Jones: Matt Jones finished T4, which was his best finish of the season. The Ripper GC veteran was scorching on Sunday, shooting a 6-under 65, which was tied for the best round of the day. Jones’ round included seven birdies and an eagle on the iconic par-5 17th.

Cameron Tringale: Cameron Tringale (HyFlyers GC) finds himself in this category for the second consecutive tournament and he’s now registered back-to-back top 10 finishes. At Valderrama, Tringale shot rounds of 73-71-67 to finish T7 after the T9 finish in Dallas.

The strong form for Tringale is a welcome sight for Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC, who are 10th in the team standings this season.

Statistical Standouts

Talor Gooch: Gooch's win was fueled by his medium approach play, gaining 0.94 strokes on the field per round (2nd) and his putting, gaining 1.46 strokes per round (2nd).

Joaquin Niemann: Gained 1.70 strokes off the tee per round (1st).

Cameron Tringale: Gained 2.15 strokes putting per round (1st).

Dustin Johnson: Gained 1.75 strokes on short approach shots per round (1st). Johnson’s wedge play is often the key to his success. His T7 finish was his best since he finished T7 in Mexico City.

Veteran Resurgence

Branden Grace: Branden Grace (Stinger GC) showed incredibe resiliency to shoot rounds of 70-70-69 to finish in 4th place this week after dealing with a right wrist injury all season long. The points Grace receives from the top-5 finish will go a long way towards securing a spot in the LIV Golf League for the 2026 season.

Young Gun Spotlight

Tom McKibbin of Legion XIII is the “young gun” who’s earned this spot for the second consecutive event. In Dallas, the Northern Irishman had his best LIV Golf finish (T5) and this week he matched that, finishing T5 once again.

McKibbin shot rounds of 74-69-66 to continue his hot form, and he is one of 19 LIV Golf League members heading to the Open Championship in his home of Northern Ireland. Mckibbin’s strong performance also helped his team charge up the team pylon, earning them their third victory of the season.

Here are the players who’ve made the biggest move in the season long individual points race:

Talor Gooch: 19 spots from 25th to 6th

Abraham Ancer: 14 spots from 23rd to 9th

Oh, man, two years ago I didn't have a son, and my son just came and gave me a hug on the green. It's so special.- Talor Gooch

Quotes of the Week

Branden Grace on his difficult season playing through injury:

"It's been a tough two years. It's been a hard grind. But I've never given up. The team has had my back. They've put their confidence in me, and it's nice to see the guys when I finish. It means a lot for them as well to see me playing good, and it's nice to have that bond in the team and have them behind you.”

Jon Rahm on his momentum heading into next week:

“Yeah, I mean, if you're not going to win, second best is best case scenario. Today I played one of the better rounds of golf I've played in a very long time. I made one bad swing, which was a really bad one, but besides that it was nothing but really good ones, which is hard to do on this golf course. It's a very positive momentum to take into next week.”

Talor Gooch on his first win as a father:

“Oh, man, two years ago I didn't have a son, and my son just came and gave me a hug on the green. It's so special. This game is not easy, and you don't take good golf for granted.”

Talor Gooch on having the most LIV Golf trophies:

“You know, it's cool considering I've been on three different teams, so we've had some success on the teams that I've been on. Year one with the Aces, year two with the Goats and then the last year here with Smash. We've been able to get some wins everywhere I've been, which makes it that much more fun and that much more just fulfilling. That's a pretty cool stat. I didn't know I had the most trophies on LIV. I'll be sure to let everyone know in JCB that that's the case.”

Jon Rahm on his current form:

“Honestly, I probably hit it better than I have in the last year and a half. Started seeing some shots that reminded me of some other good weeks, and once I got it going today and I felt comfortable on the greens, it was fun to put myself in that situation. Too bad I didn't give myself a better chance on 18, but still a pretty good par. It was just a little bit too far. I think hopefully this is a precursor for what's to come the rest of the season. It started happening last year, and I hope it happens again because this week felt really good.”
