Here is a last look at some of the notable performances from LIV Golf Chicago:
Round of the Week
Bryson DeChambeau tried to will his team to victory on Sunday with an 8-under 62, the round of the day. The Crushers GC Captain picked the Cardinal at St. John’s apart with a masterful performance with both his driver and wedges. The two-time U.S. Open champion electrified the energized Michigan crowd before falling just short on the second playoff hole. Crushers GC may have lost the Team Championship, but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort from their leader.
Clutch Performance
Tyrrell Hatton left a few shots out there on Sunday but still had a solid performance on Sunday for Legion XIII, shooting a 4-under 66. However, when it was time to deliver, the Englishman came through with some incredibly clutch shots, with his birdie on the 18th hole of regulation giving Legion XIII a chance to win in a playoff.
In the playoff, Hatton was the only player to birdie both holes, giving Legion XIII the victory.

Under the Radar Performers
Paul Casey and Charles Howell III: Crushers GC have been experimenting with pairings over the past few years but this week, they found the perfect combination in Casey and Howell III. They steamrolled the Majesticks GC’s foursome of Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson 5&4 in the Quarterfinals before getting an important win against Graeme McDowell and Jason Kokrak in the Semifinals, 2 up.
Cameron Tringale: HyFlyers GC had the biggest upset in the Quarterfinals, where Phil Mickelson’s team knocked off the No.3 seeded Fireballs GC. Tringale won his singles match against Abraham Ancer, 3&1 to help the underdogs earn the victory. In the semifinals, Tringale defeated Legion XIII superstar, Tyrrell Hatton, 2&1. The HyFlyers lost 2-1 to Legion XIII, but Tringale’s singles match play record on LIV Golf is now an incredible 6-0.
Veteran Resurgence
Louis Oosthuizen and Charl Schwartzel: Oosthuzien and Schwartzel won their first team match together at the 2013 Presidents Cup, defeating Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley at Muirfield Village. Twelve years later, the pair improved to 4-0 in LIV Golf foursomes. In the Quarterfinals, they beat Marc Leishman and Matt Jones (Ripper GC) 4&2, and in the Semifinals, they beat Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz, the only foursome pairing with two players in the top 10 in the individual standings, 2&1.
Young Gun Spotlight
Tom McKibbin / Caleb Surratt: Legion XIII made a run to the finals on Sunday thanks in large part to the young duo of McKibbin and Surratt. Jon Rahm lost his singles match in the Quarterfinals to Adrian Meronk, but McKibbin and Surratt were solid in their foursomes victory against Martin Kaymer and Frederik Kjettrup (2&1 win), which along with Tyrrell Hatton’s win against Richard Bland, sent Legion XIII to the semifinals. McKibbin and Surratt were once again victorious in the semifinals, beating Brendan Steele and Andy Ogletree of HyFlyers GC, 3&1.
In the Sunday’s Championship stroke play round, the two young up-and-comers played excellent once again. Surratt shot a 6-under 64 and McKibbin shot a 5-under 65.
Quotes of the Week
Jon Rahm on ending his season with a team championship:
“It means a lot. It's been a long year, and we've all been playing really, really well for the most part of the year and coming in as well.
"To be the No. 1 seed is never easy. Tyrrell pulled us through by sheer determination on that first match against the Cleeks. We played good yesterday. Today the two -- the young squad over here, both of them, carried us in match play, and for the most part today, had the scores going and kept us in it until Tyrrell and I were able to wake up on the 17th hole.
"Besides that, it's been really good. And then the playoff, well, it's just the icing on the cake. I did not want to think about going three in a row week-wise losing in a playoff, and I was just really positive all day, especially towards the end, that good things were going to happen. Tyrrell made that putt on the first hole, and then we got it done at the end.
"Extremely proud of everyone up here and truly happy that we're the ones standing here.
“Well, obviously to win it all. We've done well enough all year long and we're playing good golf, so at this point it's actually just finishing it off, which is easier said than done because two rounds of match play is tricky.”
Louis Oosthuizen on his partnership with Charl Schwartzel:
“We're just very comfortable around each other. I don't think we've ever said sorry to each other if we hit a bad shot. Yeah, we know each other's game, and we really feel just very comfortable around each other. Then to be able to play your game, don't have the pressure of thinking your partner is the whole time around you. We just do our thing, and I don't even walk to the tees with him. He does it -- you know, do his own thing. It's just a very good relationship. We're pretty good together.”
Brooks Koepka on Bryson DeChambeau’s decision to play against Talor Gooch in the semifinals instead of Koepka:
“Yeah, I don’t know what he’s—I don’t know what the thinking was behind that. I’d probably say the people would want to see that. I don’t know what he was afraid of.”
“He beats to his own drum,” Koepka added later. “He’s a strange cat.”
Caleb Surratt on how LIV Golf has been crucial to his development:
“I know that I wouldn’t be the player I am today if I didn’t make the decision to come out here and play with Jon and Tyrrell over the last few years. I’m very thankful for that and looking forward to many years to come.”
