LIV Golf empowers the next generation through golf instruction and marine conservation at LIV Golf Andalucía

SOTOGRANDE, Spain – Ahead of LIV Golf Andalucía, LIV Golf partnered with the Valderrama Foundation and Fireballs GC to deliver a series of impactful community events. Driven by LIV For Good—LIV Golf’s Impact and Sustainability platform—the week integrated marine conservation, hands-on golf instruction, and career development to inspire and empower the next generation of Spanish youth. These activations illustrated the intersection of LIV For Good’s three core pillars: Game, Community, and Planet.

The Valderrama Foundation Clinic & Career Development

On Tuesday afternoon, June 2nd, LIV Golf and the Valderrama Foundation hosted a specialized golf clinic at the Real Club Valderrama practice range for six local youth receiving International School golf scholarships, which cover their education and tuition. Supported by LIV Golf Reserve player Max Rottluff—and featuring special appearances by Fireballs GC Captain Sergio Garcia and Legion XIII Captain Jon Rahm—participants received practical golf tips and guidance.

Launching "From Tee to Sea" on World Oceans Day

Following the Valderrama Foundation clinic, LIV Golf and Fireballs GC welcomed 100 local community members, including clinic participants and local youth, to Real Club Marítimo Sotogrande to launch the team's "From Tee to Sea" ocean protection platform. In celebration of World Oceans Day, Fireballs GC players Sergio Garcia, David Puig, Josele Ballester, and Luis Masaveu joined participants to tackle plastic pollution along the Sotogrande coastline. The collaborative beach cleanup directly supported marine conservation efforts, successfully removing 2,200 liters of residual waste and 1,100 liters of light packaging.

The week's impact extended into Wednesday, June 3rd, with LIV Golf’s College, Career & Beyond (CC&B) program, which provided 15 local youth with a behind-the-scenes tour of tournament operations and a sports industry sustainability session.

Building on these community activations, the tournament achieved significant sustainability milestones throughout the week. Notably, the integration of solar power saved over 3,700 liters of fuel, while the deployment of on-site hydration stations eliminated the use of nearly 10,000 single-use plastic water bottles. LIV Golf’s circular economy and community support efforts also resulted in the donation of 950 lunches to the Yo Soy Tú charity, 350 square meters and 1.2 metric tons of carpet to local community centers, and five children's benches, toys, and instruments to a local school. Additionally, 1.2 metric tons of sand used for structural weights were repurposed by local greenkeepers.

The event represented a homecoming for Fireballs GC’s all-Spanish roster and Legion XIII's Jon Rahm, headlining local Spanish talent at LIV Golf Andalucía. Their involvement in youth clinics and the community beach cleanup ahead of event week underscores the impact LIV Golf’s teams and players can have beyond the fairways, driving positive change in communities worldwide.
