The golf clinic was led by Korean Golf Club’s Minkyu Kim, with the participants receiving practical tips and guidance on golf drills. The day illustrated the intersection of all three pillars of LIV For Good’s framework: Game, Community, and Planet.
"Golf has a unique power to open doors—for young people discovering the game for the first time and for communities learning to see their environment in a new way. What we were able to do in Busan speaks to the uniqueness of golf environments and the unique ways that we can engage the next generation in golf, but also STEM and life lessons," said Jake Jones, SVP, Impact & Sustainability, LIV Golf. " By pairing marine conservation education with golf instruction, we're showing that elite competition and meaningful impact don’t have to be separate routes; they belong together on the same course."
Prior to the golf clinic with Korean Golf Club, participants took part in a Marine Waste Interactive Workshop designed to introduce them to regional marine conservation, local coastal protection networks, and the plastic circularity roadmap strategy. The session also provided insight into the sustainability efforts at LIV Golf Korea, which featured vegetarian and plant-based food options throughout the course, eco-friendly and compostable dishware, reusable signage, filtered water stations to encourage reusable water-bottle use, and utilizing local vendors.
The event represented a homecoming for Korean Golf Club, which was the featured home team of LIV Golf Korea. The team's involvement in the clinic ahead of tournament week underscores the role and impact LIV Golf’s teams and players can have beyond the fairways and genuinely become inspirational figures in the communities across the globe.
