The 2025 LIV Golf season proved that success isn’t just about distance off the tee or great iron play, it often comes down to making putts. With tournaments decided by inches, the flatstick proved to be the ultimate equalizer. The adage “drive for show, putt for dough” has never felt truer, as clutch putting performances often determined who lifted the trophy and who was left wondering what might have been.
SUPERLATIVE WEEK 2025: Driver | Approach | Short Game | Putting (Oct. 9) | Scoring (Oct. 10)
Here’s a look at the putting superlatives that defined the season.
STROKES GAINED: PUTTING - INIDIVIDUAL
Stinger GC veteran Charl Schwartzel led the league in Strokes Gained: Putting, followed by 22-year-old Caleb Surratt of Legion XIII. Ben Campbell of RangeGoats GC used his elite putting to set a LIV Golf record of seven consecutive birdies in a single round on Sunday at LIV Golf Virginia. The record was later broken by Sebastian Munoz of Torque GC.

3-PUTT AVOIDANCE - INDIVIDUAL
While making long putts is always a benefit, avoiding 3-putts and keeping a clean scorecard is equally important.

TOTAL FEET OF PUTTS HOLED - INDIVIDUAL
Given that he was the league’s top putter in 2025, it’s no surprise that Schwartzel also led the league in this category. RangeGoats GC Captain Bubba Watson, who ranks 5th, had a resurgence with the putter in 2025 that he attributed to switching to a mallet putter. “We went to a mallet. I got a mallet, a Tyne putter, and it’s working so far. I’m getting them to the hole. … Without changing my stroke, it’s getting a little bit harder, so more are going in,” said Watson at LIV Golf UK.

STROKES GAINED: PUTTING - TEAM
Legion XIII led the league in Strokes Gained: Putting which went a long way towards their Team Championship efforts. Three of their four players ranked inside the top-13 individually in Strokes Gained: Putting, with the only exception being Tom McKibbin, who ranked 43rd.

3-PUTT AVOIDANCE - TEAM
The veteran team of Stinger GC led the league in 3-putt avoidance. Their ability to minimize unforced errors helped them make a run to LIV Golf Michigan Team Championship finals as the 7th-seeded team entering the week.

TOTAL FEET OF PUTTS HOLED - TEAM
Cleeks Golf Club had a strong putting season, led by Adrian Meronk. However, their elite play on the greens wasn’t enough to mitigate their struggles from tee to green.

LONGEST PUTTS HOLED
Here are the 10 longest putts holed during the 2025 season. Singapore produced three of the top 10 longest putts while Charl Schwartzel, the league’s top putter, holed three of the four longest putts of the season.
HOLES WITHOUT A 3-PUTT
Below are the longest streaks of holes without a 3-putt. Adrian Meronk and Majesticks GC Co-Captain Ian Poulter currently hold the two longest streaks, which are active and the longest in LIV Golf history.
