LIV Golf Superlatives: Inside the best putting stats of 2025

Oct 9, 2025 - 9:30 AMWritten by: Matt Vincenzi

The 2025 LIV Golf season proved that success isn’t just about distance off the tee or great iron play, it often comes down to making putts. With tournaments decided by inches, the flatstick proved to be the ultimate equalizer. The adage “drive for show, putt for dough” has never felt truer, as clutch putting performances often determined who lifted the trophy and who was left wondering what might have been.

SUPERLATIVE WEEK 2025: Driver | Approach | Short Game | Putting (Oct. 9) | Scoring (Oct. 10)

Here’s a look at the putting superlatives that defined the season.

STROKES GAINED: PUTTING - INIDIVIDUAL

Stinger GC veteran Charl Schwartzel led the league in Strokes Gained: Putting, followed by 22-year-old Caleb Surratt of Legion XIII. Ben Campbell of RangeGoats GC used his elite putting to set a LIV Golf record of seven consecutive birdies in a single round on Sunday at LIV Golf Virginia. The record was later broken by Sebastian Munoz of Torque GC.

TOTAL FEET OF PUTTS HOLED - INDIVIDUAL

Given that he was the league’s top putter in 2025, it’s no surprise that Schwartzel also led the league in this category. RangeGoats GC Captain Bubba Watson, who ranks 5th, had a resurgence with the putter in 2025 that he attributed to switching to a mallet putter. “We went to a mallet. I got a mallet, a Tyne putter, and it’s working so far. I’m getting them to the hole. … Without changing my stroke, it’s getting a little bit harder, so more are going in,” said Watson at LIV Golf UK.
