Power Rankings: All 13 teams at LIV Golf Andalucia
Jul 8, 2025 - 11:00 AMWritten by: Matt Vincenzi
As the LIV Golf League returns to Real Club Valderrama for LIV Golf Andalucía, the stage is set for its 10th stop on the 14-event schedule. Last year, Sergio Garcia and Fireballs GC won the individual and team trophies at Valderrama. The historic course is a challenging Par 71 that measures 7,010 yards.
POWER RANKINGS FOR LIV GOLF ANDALUCIA
1. CRUSHERS GC
This week, Crushers GC is going for the LIV Golf record of four consecutive team victories set by the 4Aces in 2022. Bryson DeChambeau and his teammates stormed the leaderboard a few weeks ago at LIV Golf Dallas and the team has shown no signs of slowing down. Last year, the Crushers lost in a team playoff to Fireballs GC and will seek revenge as the entire team enters the week in top form. In Dallas, all four members of the team finished in the top 11 on the individual leaderboard.
2. LEGION XIII
Legion XIII, led by captain Jon Rahm, are fresh off a third-place finish at LIV Golf Dallas and currently sit in second place in the season-long team standings. Rahm has had an up-and-down history at Valderrama throughout his career but does have a T2 finish at the 2019 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucía Masters on the DP World Tour. Tyrrell Hatton comes into the week in fantastic form. He had a career major championship best T4 finish at the U.S. Open followed by a T5 finish in Dallas where he shot the round of the week on Saturday (7-under 65). Tom McKibbin is also coming off a fantastic week at Maridoe. The Northern Irishman shot rounds of 71-71-69 to finish T5, his best result since joining LIV Golf in the offseason.
3. TORQUE GC
With how well Joaquin Niemann, Carlos Ortiz and Sebastian Munoz have played this year, it’s hard to believe that the team has yet to register a LIV Golf team win. Niemann, who’s remarkably won the individual title in every other event this season, will be on track to win this week at Valderrama if that trend continues.
Ortiz and Muñoz have been two of the most consistent performers on LIV Golf this year, are currently 8th and 6th, respectively, in the individual standings. In 2023, Muñoz finished 4th at LIV Golf Andalucía. In 2024, Ortiz finished T14 at the event in both 2023 and 2024.
If Mito Pereira, who currently sits 51st in the individual standings, contributes this week, Torque GC should find themselves in position to threaten for their first victory of the year at Valderrama.
4. STINGER GC
At LIV Golf Dallas, Stinger GC charged on Sunday, shooting 5-under as a team to finish in 4th place on the team leaderboard, narrowly missing out on their first podium finish since LIV Golf Hong Kong. The team was led by a resurgent performance from their captain, Louis Oosthuizen, who finished T2 after coming up short in a four-man playoff won by Patrick Reed.
Oosthuizen’s revival comes at a perfect time for the Stingers. The South African is a great fit for Valderrama and finished T4 at LIV Golf Andalucía last season. Oosthuizen’s teammate, Dean Burmester, is slowly rounding into form, having finished T23 in Virginia and T18 in Dallas. If Burmester can build off those performances this week, he will form a formidable duo with Oosthuizen. Branden Grace, who’s struggled for most of the last two seasons, may also be finding some form. He finished T19 in Virginia and T26 and Dallas, where he gained 0.7 strokes per round on approach, his best performance in the category since LIV Golf Singapore in March. At a golf course that favors strategy and precision, I believe the Stingers can contend this week.
5. FIREBALLS GC
This may feel like a disrespectful spot in the power rankings for Fireballs GC, who are the defending champions, but their lack of recent form is difficult to ignore. After three straight victories in Adelaide, Hong Kong and Singapore, the Fireballs have missed out on a podium finish in five consecutive events. Sergio Garcia, who of course won this event last year, has struggled of late. His best finish since LIV Golf Miami in April (3rd) was a T25 finish at LIV Golf Dallas. Last week, the Fireballs captain missed the cut at the BMW International Open on the DP World Tour.
David Puig has certainly been a bright spot for the Fireballs. The 23-year-old finished T13 in Dallas after missing LIV Golf Virginia with an injury and finished T11 at the BMW international Open on the DP World Tour last week. Abraham Ancer was also extremely helpful in Dallas where he finished T16 and contended for most of the week before slipping down the leaderboard on Sunday.
With the question marks surrounding Garcia, even at his favorite course, and lackluster recent play from newly acquired Josele Ballester, the Fireballs will look to bounce back in Spain.
6. RIPPER GC
Since their win at LIV Golf Miami followed by a runner-up finish at LIV Golf Mexico City, Ripper GC has been on a relative cold streak, failing to finish better than 5th in the team standings in their last three events.
A bounce back week for Ripper GC could be in store at Valderrama if their captain, Cameron Smith, can find some of the form that made him one of the best players in the world over the past handful of seasons. Smith finished T6 at LIV Golf Andalucía last year and T12 the year before.
Lucas Herbert, who earned medalist honors at the West Lancashire Open Championship qualifier last week, should be a strong contender this week. The Australian is having a strong season and is looking to win his first LIV Golf individual title.
Marc Leishman , who won LIV Golf Miami earlier this year, finished T10 at Valderrama last season and enters the week having gained strokes on approach in six consecutive starts.
7. 4ACES GC
4Aces GC have been finding their stride over the past two events with back-to-back runner-up finishes at LIV Golf Virginia and LIV Golf Dallas. Patrick Reed was the individual winner in Dallas, and Harold Varner III finished T5. Varner III was outstanding from tee to green at Maridoe, where gained 1.59 strokes per round on approach and 1.82 strokes off the tee.
Dustin Johnson , who’s been inconsistent this season, has shown signs of returning to form. The 4Aces captain posted T10 in Virginia and T13 in Dallas, gaining strokes on approach and off the tee in both events. If Johnson, often inconsistent with his putting, can heat up on the greens, his elite ball striking makes him a strong contender.
8. CLEEKS GOLF CLUB
The Cleeks Golf Club, led by their captain, Martin Kaymer, may be hitting their stride at the right time to notch their first podium finish of the season this week at Valderrama. The Cleeks finished 6th at LIV Golf Dallas with their oldest player, Richard Bland, finishing T18.
Kaymer currently lives in Sotogrande, Spain and has had multiple strong performances at Valderrama, including a 2nd place finish at the 2020 Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters.
Kaymer and Bland aren’t the longest hitters in the LIV Golf league, but on shorter tracks like Valderrama, they should both be threats to contend given their current form.
9. SMASH GC
Smash GC’s captain, Brooks Koepka, was forced to pull out of LIV Golf Dallas with an illness. If the five-time major winner finds the form that saw him finish T12 at last month’s U.S. Open, this might be too low of a spot on the power rankings for Smash.
Talor Gooch has finished 3rd in Korea and T10 in Virginia before a balky putter held him back in Dallas. The ball striking has been fantastic for Gooch, who won at Valderrama in 2023.
Jason Kokrak and Graeme McDowell have been inconsistent in 2025 and will need a boost from their captain if the team is to contend this week.
10. RANGEGOATS GC
RangeGoats GC started the season strong with a podium finish in Riyadh but haven’t been back since. Their captain, Bubba Watson, has put together some incredible rounds of late and has finished in the top ten in two of his past four starts. Watson finished T4 in Virginia, his best LIV Golf performance to date.
Peter Uihlein had a strong showing at last week’s International Series Morocco, finishing T3. His LIV Golf form has been shaky, so perhaps the 35-year-old can carry some momentum into Valderrama this week.
Spaniard Luis Masaveu, who played the first half of the season with the Fireballs, will be playing for the RangeGoats this week.
11. IRON HEADS GC
Jinichiro Kozuma has been one of the best stories of LIV Golf during the 2025 season. Kozuma is 29th in the individual standings despite missing the first five events with an injury. He finished T2 in Dallas, losing in the first playoff hole.
For Kozuma to carry the Iron Heads to contention, his teammates Kevin Na, Yubin Jang and Danny Lee will need to step up. Outside of Kozuma, only Lee, who finished T9 in Miami, has registered an individual top 10 this season.
12. HYFLYERS GC
The 2025 season has been a struggle for Phil Mickelson’s HyFlyers GC. They rank 10th in the season long standings and haven’t had a podium finish since a T3 at LIV Golf Hong Kong.
Cameron Tringale perhaps gives the HyFlyers some reason for optimism. The 39-year-old finished T9 in Dallas, which was his 2nd best finish of the season (T5 in Singapore).
The team’s 55-year-old captain has performed admirably, but Brendan Steele and Andy Ogletree will need to perform better in order for the HyFlyers to finish the season strong.
13. MAJESTICKS GC
The Majesticks GC have struggled mightily this season, failing to register a finish better than T5 all season. The team has finished 9th or worse in seven consecutive events, with three of those being last-place finishes.
