Team Power Rankings for LIV Golf UK by JCB
Jul 22, 2025 - 12:00 PMWritten by: Matt Vincenzi
As LIV Golf heads to JCB Golf & Country Club for its 11th stop on the 14-event schedule, the stage is set for an exciting tournament in Staffordshire, England. Last year, Jon Rahm claimed his maiden LIV Golf individual title at JCB, edging out Cameron Smith, Joaquin Niemann, and teammate Tyrrell Hatton by a single stroke, while Legion XIII won the team competition, beating Ripper GC by three strokes. The par-71, 7,276-yard course will provide plenty of birdie opportunties for the LIV Golf players and will demand strong play off the tee.
POWER RANKINGS: LIV GOLF UK BY JCB
1. LEGION XIII
Legion XIII tops the rankings after their 2024 JCB team victory and a third team win of the 2025 season at LIV Golf Andalucía. Jon Rahm, who's yet to win his first individual title this season, will return to the course where he got his first LIV Golf individual win. Tyrrell Hatton finished one shot behind Rahm last year at JCB and arrives to the UK this week in terrific form, fresh off a T16 finish at Royal Portrush in the Open Championship. Tom McKibbin should be extremely well suited for JCB. He’s elite off the tee, gaining strokes in the category in every LIV Golf start this season. The 22-year-old has finished T5 in back-to-back LIV Golf starts (Dallas and Andalucía).
2. CRUSHERS GC
Crushers GC, who just saw their three-tournament win streak snapped at LIV Golf Andalucía, will once again be a major threat to continue their 2025 dominance. Bryson DeChambeau played his final three rounds at the Open Championship with 197 strokes, which is the 2nd-lowest in Open Championship history behind Henrik Stenson in 2016 (196). The Crushers' captain was second in the field in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (+1.66 per round), which will be an important factor at JCB. DeChambeau’s teammate, Paul Casey, finished 5th at JCB last year, and mentioned after LIV Golf Dallas that he thinks he can contend this week saying, “I think JCB there's kind of unfinished business around there.”
3. FIREBALLS GC
Fireballs GC have all four of their players rounding into form at the right time to peak once again at the end of the season. Sergio Garcia, who was hot early in the season, is once again finding rhythm after a cold spell between the Masters and Valderrama. The Fireballs Captain gained 1.57strokes off the tee at LIV Golf Andalucía (best of the season) with his new Titleist GT3 driver, finishing T10. Last week at The Open Championship, Garcia drove it really well again, gaining 0.79 strokes per round off the tee. David Puig is coming off three consecutive top 20 finishes and finished T11 at JCB last year. Abraham Ancer finished 3rd in his last start at Valderrama and Josele Ballester is coming off his best performance as a professional (T23).
4. 4ACES GC
4Aces GC have had a hot stretch, finishing runner-up at both Virginia and Dallas as well as T3 at Andalucía. The balanced attack from the Aces will be spearheaded by Dustin Johnson , who I believe is poised to contend for an individual victory this week. The 4Aces Captain finished T7 in his last LIV Golf start at Valderrama and finished T23 last week at the Open Championship, his best result in a major championship since 2022. Patrick Reed won his first LIV Golf individual title in Dallas, and Thomas Pieters should be an excellent course fit with his driving prowess. Harold Varner III has been playing good golf of late and finished T20 here last season.
5. TORQUE GC
Torque GC will once again be led by Joaquin Niemann, who’s won four LIV Golf events in 2025 and finished T2 at JCB in 2024. Niemann has been consistently gaining strokes off the tee, but his approach play has fallen off of late, losing strokes in the category in three consecutive starts including last week’s Open Championship at Royal Portrush. Carlos Ortiz, who finished T4 at last month’s U.S. Open at Oakmont, is also experiencing a natural dip in form. For Torque to challenge for the team title this week, they’ll need a strong performance from their two cornerstone players alongside the consistent Sebastian Munoz.
6. RIPPER GC
Ripper GC, 2024 JCB runners-up, could use another strong performance from captain Cameron Smith. Despite missing cuts at all 2025 majors, Smith’s recent LIV Golf finishes give some reason for optimism. He finished T13 in Dallas and T7 at Andalucía. Marc Leishman made the cut at last week’s Open Championship and will be looking to refind some form after a strong start to the season. Matt Jones is coming off his best finish of the season (T4) at Andalucía.
7. STINGER GC
Stinger GC is still looking for their first team victory of the season and first podium finish since LIV Golf Hong Kong and will need a performance similar to last year from captain Louis Oosthuizen , who finished T6 at JCB. Branden Grace showed up for the Stingers in a big way at LIV Golf Andalucía, finishing T4 and all but locking up a LIV Golf roster spot for the 2026 season. Dean Burmester, who the team has relied on heavily over the last few seasons, is in a major slump, failing to record a top 10 finish in his past seven LIV Golf starts.
8. HYFLYERS GC
HyFlyers GC are on the upswing, finishing 8th, T7 and 5th in their last three starts. Captain Phil Mickelson has been solid all season, but the team’s recent resurgence has been due to the play of Cameron Tringale, who has back-to-back top 10 finishes at Dallas and Andalucía. Brendan Steele has also rebounded from a poor start to the season, finishing inside the top 20 in two of his last three starts. The HyFlyers are looking to capitalize on the form of Tringale and Steele in order to earn their first podium finish of the season.
9. MAJESTICKS GC
Majesticks GC hasn’t finished in the top nine in the team standings in their last eight starts. However, this week, backed by home crowds, I believe the veteran bunch may just be capable of a strong performance. Lee Westwood had a strong Open Championship performance, gaining 1.24 strokes off the tee per round. Henrik Stenson finished T45 at The Open and is starting to show some signs of life. Ian Poulter has just fallen into the Drop Zone and will be highly motivated to earn some points this week.
10. SMASH GC
Smash GC Captain Brooks Koepka is starting to see his team move in a positive direction, and it's being led by the resurgence of Talor Gooch, who won LIV Golf Andalucía. That alone certainly gives the team a shot to compete this week, but Graeme McDowell and Jason Kokrak will need to have one of their best performances of the season for Smash to be a contender going forward.
11. CLEEKS GC
Cleeks Golf Club is still looking for their first podium finish of 2025 but have been consistent of late, finishing 9th, 6th and 8th in their last three starts. Adrian Meronk, who the Cleeks were depending on for a big year, ranks 23rd in the individual standings but hasn’t had a LIV Golf top ten finish since his win in Riyadh in the first week of the season. Richard Bland has back-to-back top 20 finishes but will need more help from the team’s younger players if the Cleeks are to avoid a lost season on the golf course.
12. RANGEGOATS GC
After a strong stretch between Mexico City and Virginia, the RangeGoats have finished 12th and 13th in their last two starts. Captain Bubba Watson has been a bright spot for the team this season, ranking 31st in the individual standings. Peter Uihlein, however, has had a difficult season and ranks 41st as a player still in his prime.
13. IRON HEADS GC
Jinichiro Kozuma continues to be a revelation for the Iron Heads. He finished T2 at Dallas and T10 at Andalucía and has been one of the best iron players in the league since his return from injury five starts into the season. The issue for the Iron Heads has been the fact that Kozuma isn’t getting much help from his teammates. Kevin Na, Yubin Jang and Danny Lee all rank 42nd or worse in the LIV Golf individual standings.
