First-half superlatives: Best rounds, longest drives, most impressive win and more

Thanks to our stats experts at Champion Data, we’ve put together this list of superlatives for the first half of the 2025 season.

BEST ROUND

By practically all accounts, Ripper GC’s Lucas Herbert’s 10-under 61 in the final round in Mexico City is the best round thus far this season.

Not only is it the lowest round this year, it also ties Adrian Meronk’s 10-under 62 in Riyadh for lowest round relative to par.

Perhaps most impressive, Herbert’s round was the best round via strokes gained total this season. In fact, his +10.43 is the second best strokes gained total for any LIV Golf round in history, bettered only by Joaquin Niemann’s 59 in the opening round in Mayakoba in 2023 (+11.61).

For comparison’s sake, Meronk’s 62 in the opening round in Riyad was +7.09.

MOST IMPRESSIVE WIN

Of the seven wins this season, only one finished just one stroke ahead of his closest competitor (Marc Leishman in Miami by one over Charl Schwartzel).

Torque GC Captain Joaquin Niemann has three wins, all by at least three strokes. His Singapore victory as a five-stroke romp over Brooks Koepka – the largest winning margin this season.

If you look at strokes gained totals, however, Bryson DeChambeau’s victory last month in Korea was the most dominant, as he gained +5.49 strokes over the field. He ultimately won by two shots over teammate Charles Howell III.
