POTOMAC FALLS, Va. – Mito Pereira charged up the leaderboard to take the second-round led at LIV Golf DC, while helping Torque GC grab the team lead.

Here are some other interesting news, notes and stats from the first round at Trump National Golf Club Washington DC.

NA EYES SECOND IRON HEADS TROPHY: Newcomer Danny Lee gave Iron Heads GC its first trophy of any kind when he won LIV Golf Tucson in a four-man playoff. Now his captain, Kevin Na, has a shot at another individual title.

Na finished inside the points in his first five starts of the season, with his best result an eighth place in Tucson when Lee won. He comes off a 44th place in Tulsa.

“My game feels good, and it's turning around,” Na said. “You know what, it comes down to making putts.”

STENSON LIKES TOUGH COURSES: Last year in his LIV Golf debut, Majesticks co-captain Henrik Stenson won at Trump National Bedminster. He thinks there are similarities with Trump National Washington, D.C.

“I think if I look back over the course of my career, I normally do well on slightly tougher golf courses, courses that are not super-low in terms of scoring,” Stenson

said. “… I think you’ve got to manage your way around this golf course a little bit more than a lot of the other ones that we’ve played so far this year.”

OGLETREE REMAINS IN THE MIX: Reserve player Andy Ogletree is filling in for injured Paul Casey in the Crushers GC lineup this week. Playing in the lead group Saturday, Ogletree shot a 2-under 70 that leaves him at 6 under, just three shots off the lead.

Ogletree, the International Series Order of Merit leader through four events this season, can acquire points in the LIV Golf Individual standings if he finishes inside the top 24 Sunday.

KIERAN VINCENT REPLACES KOKRAK: Reserve player Kieran Vincent of Zimbabwe replaced injured Smash GC player Jason Kokrak on Saturday, shooting a 2-over 74 that was one of the team’s three counting scores.

Vincent, the younger brother of Iron Heads GC’s Scott Vincent, is third on the International Series Order of Merit after winning last month’s event in Vietnam.
