CARROLLTON, Texas – As the LIV Golf League heads to Maridoe Golf Club for LIV Golf Dallas presented by Aramco, the stage is set for its ninth stop on the 14-event schedule. Last year, Maridoe was the host of the LIV Golf Team Championship, in which Ripper GC emerged victorious. The course is a challenging Par 72 that measures 7,533 yards.
Power rankings for 13 teams at LIV Golf Dallas
1. Torque GC
Despite the incredible 2025 season of captain Joaquin Niemann, who's won four of the first eight events this season and tops the season-long points race, Torque GC has yet to celebrate a team title. Even so, two other teammates have been impressive as well. Carlos Ortiz turned heads at the U.S. Open two weeks ago with a T4 finish, his best in a major championship. He also sits 7th in the LIV Golf Individual standings.
Sebastian Munoz, who is currently 6th in the Individual standings, has been extremely consistent this year. The Colombian has a runner-up finish in Riyadh, a top 5 in Singapore, and top 10s in both Hong Kong and Mexico City. At last year’s Team Championship at Maridoe, he posted the lowest round of any player with an 8-under 64 in the final round.
Both Ortiz and Muñoz played their college golf at the University of North Texas, which utilizes Maridoe as their home course.
If Mito Pereira can contribute a few solid rounds to the team, Torque should find themselves in contention.
2. Legion XIII
Legion XIII, led by captain Jon Rahm, will be formidable contenders this week. Rahm, the 2024 individual champion, has posted 20 consecutive top 10 finishes in the LIV Golf events that he’s completed and has shown no signs of slowing down. Last year, the Spaniard was forced to withdraw from the Team Championship due to illness, but the links style of the course should suit him well.
Tyrrell Hatton is coming off a career-best T4 at the U.S. Open but hasn’t quite lived up to his preseason expectations for Legion XIII just yet and is currently 22nd in points.
The two youngest Legion XIII members, Caleb Surratt and Tom McKibbin, have performed steadily this year, but both have room for improvement. Surratt sits 35th in the Individual standings and McKibbin is 27th. With Rahm nearing peak form and Hatton having found something at Oakmont, the young guns on Legion XIII should only need decent performances for the team to be near the top of the leaderboard at Maridoe.
3. Crushers GC
The Crushers are led by Bryson DeChambeau, who lives just 20 miles away in Grapevine. So far in 2025, DeChambeau is proving once again why he’s one of the best players in the world. The local star won last month at LIV Golf Korea presented by Coupang Play and has finished in the top 10 in five of his eight LIV Golf starts this season.
Although DeChambeau is clearly the star of the team, Crushers GC have arguably the deepest team in the league. Anirban Lahiri, who finished T2 at LIV Golf Virginia, has shown on numerous occasions that he’s not afraid to mix it up with the league’s biggest stars. Paul Casey, currently 30th in points, has been solid but certainly capable of more. Charles Howell III dueled with his captain in Korea and is a steady veteran presence for the team.
The Crushers will be going for their third consecutive team title this week in Dallas.
4. 4Aces GC
4Aces GC have struggled this season relative to expectations and rank 6th in the team standings. They do have podium finishes in both Singapore and Miami but have yet to win as a team in 27 starts (last 5 in 2023, 14 in 2024, first 8 in 2025). In recent weeks, 4Aces stalwarts Dustin Johnson and Patrick Reed have shown signs of rounding into form. Johnson has three top 10 finishes this season, including a T10 in Virginia. Reed finished T23 at the U.S. Open and ranked 16th in the field in strokes gained approach.
Thomas Pieters is coming off a tie for his best LIV Golf performance, finishing T4 in Virginia. The talented Belgian was a fantastic offseason pickup for the Aces and if he continues to ascend, the team should finish strong in 2025.
Harold Varner III has been solid this season as well and ranks 26th in the Individual standings. Surprisingly, it’s the two stars of the team who need to improve going forward for the Aces to return to make a move towards the top of the team standings in Dallas.
5. Ripper GC
Ripper GC won the 2024 Team Championship at Maridoe, and should once again be a strong candidate to perform well in Dallas. In 2025, Ripper has four podium finishes, including a win in Miami led by Marc Leishman ’s individual win at Doral. Lucas Herbert has been stellar for Ripper this season with four top 10s including a T2 in Mexico City.
The Ripper GC captain, Cameron Smith, hasn’t been quite himself so far in 2025. The former Open champion does have three top 10 finishes on the season but has yet to really contend in any event this year. For Ripper to win at Maridoe this week, they’ll need more out of their superstar.
6. Fireballs GC
Fireballs GC are currently third in the LIV Golf team standings, but after a hot start to the season, they’ve slipped in recent events. The team’s recent struggles are a microcosm of their captain Sergio Garcia’s season so far in 2025. After a scorching start to the year that included a win in Hong Kong, Garcia has stumbled of late. In his last five starts, including the Masters and the PGA Championship, his best finish has come in the form of a T38 at LIV Golf Virginia.
Abraham Ancer is also experiencing a rough stretch this season. The Mexican star has only one top five finish (T2 at LIV Golf Adelaide) and hasn’t finished inside the top 14 in an event since Singapore back in March.
LIV Golf’s newest signing, former U.S. Amateur champion Josele Ballester, is an exciting prospect but will likely need some time to get used to playing professionally. David Puig is coming off an injury but expects to play this week.
Garcia, a Texas resident, will need to find some form for the Fireballs to contend and prevent a further freefall in the team standings.
7. Iron Heads GC
It's been a disappointing season so far for Iron Heads GC but returning to the site of their Cinderella run in the LIV Golf Team Championship last season may be just what they need to get things back on track.
In addition to the good vibes the team will experience at Maridoe, the recent return of Jinichiro Kozuma should also help the team take a step in the right direction. Kozuma, who missed the start of the season with a back injury, has been a welcome addition to the team since he rejoined the lineup, finishing 21st in Mexico City, 7th in Korea and T23 in Virginia.
All of the Iron Heads players sit either 38th or worse in the individual standings.
8. Stinger GC
Stinger GC currently sits 8th in the team standings, which is well below the high expectations the South African team had coming into 2025. Charl Schwartzel’s resurgence this year, with two top-10 finishes, and Dean Burmester’s consistency have kept them competitive. However, a surprising down year from their captain Louis Oosthuizen combined with a second consecutive Drop Zone-type year from Branden Grace (currently 50th in the individual standings) has held Stinger back.
Oosthuizen will need to find some form this week at Maridoe for the team to be competitive.
9. Smash GC
Led by Brooks Koepka, Smash GC has been inconsistent in 2025 but remain dangerous with some recent encouraging signs from their captain. This season, the five-time major champion has a runner-up in Singapore and T7 in Adelaide.
Talor Gooch, who won three times in 2023, is trending upwards. He’s finished in the top 10 in back-to-back starts and should have a strong chance to contend this week with the newly found form.
Graeme McDowell gave a fantastic performance in his most recent start at Virginia, which is a great sign for Smash.
10.Cleeks GC
Martin Kaymer’s performance in Virginia (T8) was one of his most impressive in the LIV Golf League this season. The two-time major champion, wearing the Cleeks Golf Club new “Public Drip” line, turned heads both with his new bucket hat and his stellar play at Robert Trent Jones Golf Club.
Adrian Meronk (T29 in Virginia), Richard Bland (T29 in Virginia) and Frederik Kjettrup (T47 in Virginia) didn’t perform well enough to take advantage of Kaymer’s resurgence.
For the Cleeks to be a factor at Maridoe, Kaymer will have to use his momentum from Virginia to put together another strong outing in Dallas and the other three players on the team will have to contribute.
11. RangeGoats GC
A vintage Bubba Watson performance was exactly what RangeGoats GC needed to spark their 2025 season. At LIV Golf Virginia, Watson finished T4 and has finished in the top 20 in three consecutive LIV Golf starts. Ben Campbell also did his part, shooting the round of the week that included a LIV Golf single-round record of seven consecutive birdies.
Matthew Wolff , however, was forced to withdraw from LIV Golf Virginia with an injury and his status for Dallas remains unclear. Peter Uihlein has also been underwhelming of late, failing to finish in the top 20 in five consecutive LIV Golf starts.
The RangeGoats may need some more heroics from Watson if they’re to be a factor on the leaderboard this week at Maridoe.
12. HyFlyers GC
HyFlyers GC, led by Phil Mickelson, simply aren’t getting a strong enough contribution from any player other than their captain so far in 2025. The six-time major winner has performed admirably, finishing 3rd in Hong Kong, 6th in Miami and T4 in Virginia, but carrying the team as a 55-year-old is a lot to ask.
The HyFlyers need more out of Cameron Tringale, Brendan Steele and Andy Ogletree.
13. Majesticks GC
Majesticks GC currently sit second-to-last in the team standings and haven’t shown many signs of that turning around.
Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson have yet to produce a top-10 finish this season, however, Lee Westwood is coming off his first top 10 finish this season (T10) at LIV Golf Virginia. Sam Horsfield, who is currently 36th in the LIV Golf Individual standings, is struggling to carry the load for the Majesticks.
Poulter, Stenson and Westwood all rank 42nd or lower in the Individual standings through the first eight events of the season.
