FARMINGDALE, N.Y. – The team match play portion of the 2025 Ryder Cup at Bethpage Black has concluded, with Europe taking a commanding 11.5-4.5 lead over the United States. To win on home soil, the United States will need to make an unprecedented comeback. Currently, the largest comeback in Ryder Cup singles came in 1999, when the United States came back from 10-6, claiming 8.5 out of 12 possible points, securing a 14.5–13.5 overall victory.

Here are 10 observations from Saturday at the 2025 Ryder Cup:

1. Rahm and Hatton dominance continues: The Legion XIII dynamic duo is now unbeaten in six Ryder Cup matches as a team (5-0-1).

2. Individual streak: Hatton extended his streak of Ryder Cup matches without a loss to seven (6-0-1). His last loss came in his singles match in 2021 at Whistling Straits against Justin Thomas (4 & 3).

3. Rahm's chip in: While standing in the greenside bunker of the 8th hole with the ball in an awkward position in the greenside rough, Rahm holed out for an incredible birdie in a tied match against Patrick Cantlay and Xander Schauffele.

4. All-around player: On Friday, Rahm led all players in both Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and Strokes Gained: Putting. On Saturday’s morning foursomes, Rahm flashed another elite part of his game, leading the field in Strokes Gained: Approach (+2.19).

5. DeChambeau's putt: DeChambeau drilled a clutch 11’11” putt on the 11th hole in his match (with Scottie Scheffler) in Saturday’s fourballs to swing the momentum in the match and cut the deficit to one. The Crushers GC captain erupted in celebration and got the crowd fired up. They went on to lose the match, but it wasn’t due to a lack of effort from DeChambeau.

6. DeChambeau not the problem for U.S. team: The fourball match between DeChambeau/Scheffler and Rose/Fleetwood didn’t go the Americans’ way, but DeChambeau was one of the most impressive players in the Fourball session individually. He led the session in Strokes Gained: Tee to Green (+2.17).

7. DeChambeau’s driver: Through four sessions, DeChambeau led all players in the Ryder Cup in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee (+2.09).

8. A Spaniard’s touch: Rahm leads all players in the Ryder Cup in Strokes Gained: Around the Green (+3.04).

9. Rahm’s flatstick: Rahm ranks second in Strokes Gained: Putting this week (+3.04).

10. Moving on up: Rahm enhances his Ryder Cup record to 9-4-3, with his 10.5 total points elevating him to a tie for 19th on the European all-time leading scorers list.
