Viaplay Brings LIV Golf to Audiences Across Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Finland as the Nordic Region’s Leading Sports and Entertainment Broadcaster

Viaplay Group and LIV Golf announced a new partnership that will see Viaplay deliver comprehensive live coverage of the LIV Golf League across its platforms in the Nordics beginning with the 2026 season, bringing one of the world’s most dynamic global sports properties to Nordic sports audiences. The agreement further reinforces Viaplay’s leadership position as the home of the world’s biggest and most popular live sports, while underscoring its role as the Nordic region’s leading entertainment provider.

LIV Golf, the global golf league blending world-class competition with entertainment and culture to grow the game worldwide, will deliver a 2026 season featuring 14 events across 10 countries and five continents, including its first-ever event in South Africa (March 19–22). Viaplay’s coverage of the 2026 LIV Golf season will commence February 4–7 with ROSHN Group LIV Golf Riyadh, live from Saudi Arabia, and continue through events in Adelaide, Hong Kong, Singapore, Mexico, the United States, the United Kingdom, and additional international destinations.

Viaplay’s partnership with LIV Golf will begin with live coverage of the 2026 LIV Golf Promotions event, taking place January 9–11 at Black Diamond Ranch in Florida, where a globally diverse field of nearly 80 players is competing for three highly coveted Wild Card positions in the 2026 LIV Golf League season.

“The quality of players on LIV Golf is truly exceptional. Since we first broadcast LIV Golf events in 2022, we have followed the league’s development closely, and we are very pleased to welcome LIV Golf back to Viaplay," said Peter Nørrelund, EVP & Chief Sports & Business Development Officer at Viaplay Group. "The league has continued to evolve both in terms of sporting level and global appeal, and it offers a distinctive, high-intensity format featuring some of the biggest names in world golf. With LIV Golf returning to our platforms, viewers can look forward to hundreds of additional hours of world-class live golf throughout the season.”

“We are pleased to once again partner with Viaplay across the Nordics,” said Örjan Olsson, SVP, International Media Rights at LIV Golf. “Through Viaplay’s long-standing commitment to delivering premium sports content, golf fans and audiences in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Iceland, and Finland can expect inside-the-ropes access to elite global stars and emerging golf talent across the game’s most dynamic competition format. Together, we will continue to deliver golf fans access to the sport’s most compelling individual and team storylines, defined by intense rivalries and season-long drama.”

Via the new rights agreement, golf fans and Viaplay audiences across the Nordics can consistently follow a premier global field spanning the sport’s most elite competitors and iconic figures - including Bryson DeChambeau, Jon Rahm, Joaquin Niemann, Phil Mickelson, Dustin Johnson, Sergio García, Tyrrell Hatton, and more - alongside a rising generation of global talent such as David Puig, Tom McKibbin, Josele Ballester, and Caleb Surratt, competing across 13 teams built to deliver compelling rivalries, global representation, and season-long drama.

LIV Golf’s competition format, with events contested over four rounds and 72 holes across many of the world’s most iconic courses, is anchored by the League’s signature shotgun start, which initiates play simultaneously across the entire course. The League’s innovative broadcast approach accelerates pace and enhances both individual and team storylines, delivering a dynamic, action-dense viewing experience with significantly more live action than traditional golf broadcasts - all within a four-to-five-hour window for Viaplay audiences and global event attendees.

With the addition of LIV Golf, Viaplay continues to strengthen its live sports portfolio in the Nordics - which features Formula 1, Premier League football, Bundesliga, PDC darts, and more - reinforcing its commitment to delivering innovative, world-class sporting experiences through comprehensive live coverage, expert analysis, and high-quality production.
