TORQUE GC REVIEW

TEAM: Torque GC led the League with three players in the top 10 of the season-long standings. Captain Joaquin Niemann delivered a historic performance, securing five victories. The team also celebrated their first win since LIV Golf Greenbrier in 2023, claiming both the individual (Sebastian Munoz) and team titles at LIV Golf Indianapolis. Torque was fourth in the regular season standings and had six podium finishes. They advanced to the semifinals at the Michigan Team Championship before being upset by Stinger GC in the semifinals.

PLAYER (FINAL POINTS RANKING)

Joaquin Niemann (2): Niemann’s season was highlighted by five individual wins, the most of any player in a single season in LIV Golf’s four-year history. The Torque captain looked dominant for most of the season, winning in Adelaide, Singapore, Mexico City, Virginia and UK. With his win in Virginia, Niemann became the winningest individual golfer in LIV Golf history, amassing six total wins (seven by season’s end) in his last 21 LIV Golf starts. Expectations were high for Niemann at the major championships, and although he wasn’t able to contend, he did manage to achieve his best major finish, tying for eighth at the 2025 PGA Championship.

Sebastian Munoz (4): Muñoz had a remarkable season, finishing in the top 10 in the season-long standings for the first time in his LIV Golf career. He didn’t have as many wins as his captain, but he did lead the team with 12 finishes inside the points-earning top-24 in his 13 starts. The Colombian had one of the most impressive weeks in LIV Golf history when he won in Indianapolis, becoming the first player in professional golf history to shoot 59 in a round where a double-bogey was recorded on the scorecard. His 59 was just the third sub-60 round in LIV Golf history. Muñoz erupted for 13 birdies in his final 14 holes, including a LIV Golf record of eight consecutive birdies. His 14 birdies in a single round was another historic first in professional golf.

Carlos Ortiz (8): Ortiz has quietly been one of the best players on LIV Golf year in and year out. The Mexican star has finished inside the Lock Zone in all four of his seasons and his 8th place finish in 2025 was his best season yet. Although he didn’t join his teammates Niemann and Muñoz as Torque players to boast an individual title on LIV Golf, he did win the International Series Macau and finish in the top-10 six times. He also had the best major finish of any Torque player, finishing T4 at the U.S. Open at Oakmont. Ortiz is a reliable ball-striker and one of the most underrated talents in professional golf.

Mito Pereira (51): Pereira had a disappointing season which led to his relegation from LIV Golf after finishing in the Drop Zone. He put forth valiant effort towards the end of the season, finishing 13th and in the points at Chicago, but it was too little too late. Pereira’s got off to a promising start on LIV Golf, finishing 8th in the season-long standings in 2023 before struggling over the past two seasons. Pereira will have to earn his way back through the promotions event or the International Series.
