LEGION XIII REVIEW

TEAM: Legion XIII had a dominant season, fittingly emerging as LIV Golf’s 2025 champion after winning the Michigan Team Championship in a playoff against Crushers GC. They entered the season finale as the No. 1 seed on the strength of a league-best four tournament victories and four other top-3 podium results while finishing every regular-season event inside the points (top 8). Although Captain Jon Rahm led the charge en route to claiming his second straight Individual Championship, his teammates all pulled their weight, with two young potential stars in Tom McKibbin and Caleb Surratt emerging alongside Rahm’s running mate, Tyrrell Hatton. If there was any disappointment from the team’s perspective, it was the lack of an individual tournament win, as Legion XIII followed 2024 winner Ripper GC as Team Champions without any individual wins. Even so, Legion XIII has secured eight team victories, tying for the most in LIV Golf history, a remarkable feat considering they’ve played in just two of the league’s four seasons.

PLAYERS (final points ranking)

Jon Rahm (1): Rahm’s season was incredibly consistent as his worst finish was a T11 in Dallas – his only non-top 10 finish in his 25 completed regular-season starts. Despite Joaquin Niemann’s five wins compared to Jon Rahm’s none, the Spaniard’s consistent point-scoring in every event, capped by a final-round 60 to force a playoff in Indianapolis, secured enough points to surpass the Chilean. Rahm came extremely close to winning, with four runner-up finishes, with the final two (Chicago and Indianapolis) coming in playoff losses to Dean Burmester and Sebastian Munoz. The Legion XIII captain also had a strong major season. He finished T14 at The Masters, T8 at the PGA Championship and T8 at the U.S. Open.

Tom McKibbin (20): McKibbin emerged as a potential future star for Legion XIII, showing incredible promise throughout his first season in the league. He had four top 10-finishes, including a T4 in Legion XIII’s victory at Valderrama. The Northern Irishman played a major role in the Michigan Team Championship, firing a 5-under 65 to help get the team into a playoff against the Crushers. At just 22 years old, McKibbin has already proven the ability to be elite in some areas of his game. He ranked 5th in the league in both Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and Strokes Gained: Around the Green.

Tyrrell Hatton (26): Hatton failed to earn an individual LIV Golf win in 2025, but did have a steady season. He finished in the top-10 three times and inside the top 24 in 10 of his 13 starts. Hatton shined in the major championships and contended deep into the final round of the U.S. Open at Oakmont, eventually finishing T4, the best major finish of his career. He also finished T14 at The Masters and T16 at The Open Championship.

Caleb Surratt (33): Caleb Surratt made a significant leap in his young career during the 2025 season, highlighted by his first LIV Golf top-5 finish (3rd at LIV Golf UK by JCB), which showcased his growth. In his debut LIV Golf season (2024), Surratt finished 41st in the Individual standings, but a year later, he helped propel Legion XIII to a Team Championship with a final-round 6-under 64 in Michigan. As the league’s second-best putter, gaining +0.68 strokes on the field per round, the 21-year-old is poised for another major step forward in 2026.
