MAJESTICKS GC REVIEW
TEAM: Majesticks GC edged out Iron Heads GC in the play-in match to advance to the Quarterfinals of the Michigan Team Championship, offering a small boost to their otherwise lackluster 2025 season. LIV Golf’s oldest team (by average age), led by three European legends, were one of three teams in the league to not register a podium finish, with their best result being a T5 finish in Adelaide. Tri-Captains Lee Westwood, Ian Poulter and Henrik Stenson all had to play with extreme pressure down the stretch of the season as they attempted to avoid relegation, with Stenson coming up just short in his efforts. All four Majesticks GC players finished 39th or worst in the individual standings.

PLAYERS (FINAL POINTS RANKING)
Sam Horsfield (39): Horsfield managed to have the team’s best individual season but undoubtedly hoped for better. The 28-year-old managed only one top-10 finish (T7 in Adelaide) and finished in the top 15 three times. Horsfield was able to play well enough to avoid the Drop Zone but will need to improve to help a Majesticks team in desperate need of a spark.
Lee Westwood (46): Westwood avoided relegation, but just barely. The 52-year-old displayed flashes of strong play, notably a T10 finish in Virginia and a solid T34 at The Open Championship – including a record-tying 29 on the back nine in the third round – but struggled with consistency throughout the season. The Ryder Cup stalwart was able to show his match play prowess in Michigan, delivering a critical 1-up victory over Danny Lee in the play-in match.
Ian Poulter (48): Ever the showman, Poulter once again delivered when it mattered most, birdieing four of his final five holes at LIV Golf Indianapolis to narrowly escape the Drop Zone and secure his spot in the league for another season. Poulter’s clutch finish at Chatham Hills capped an otherwise lackluster season, with only two point-producing top-24 results: a T13 in Korea and a T17 in Indianapolis. He lost strokes to the field both on approach and off the tee in 12 of 13 events.
Henrik Stenson (49): Stenson started the final round at LIV Golf Indianapolis in the Open Zone but a disappointing 1-over 72 dropped him into the Drop Zone, resulting in the former Open Champion’s relegation from the league. Despite leading the Majesticks in Strokes Gained: Off the Tee and Strokes Gained: Approach as the only team member to average gains in either category, Henrik Stenson’s season was undermined by a woeful putting performance, ranking 49th in Strokes Gained: Putting.
